They were also initially worthless when they first came out (but not anymore).

Are they collectible now? I bought quite a few when they were released. One of these days I need to sell all my duplicates back from my collecting days. Are LGM and PP original vinyl still desirable? I know they were re released a few years back.

I'm thinking my EAR collection won't quite pay for the kids college...

$20 each on the 7". $50-$100 each for LGM and PP (mint copies, higher prices). Don't know about EAR.

You're more than welcome to a copy Dave, shoot me a pm.
Just went through all my 7" singles, was fun to look at them again. I mostly only play the full albums these days so I don't often enjoy these.

I think i got a bad* splatter, but yeah... really nice to have this as a 7...

I have it in my accessible box near the turn table and i love not remembering which version is gonna come through after i drop the needle.

It IS a hassle of sorts to use 7" singles, but nevertheless I enjoy them. It is quite true the singles and EPs offer different versions, often better than an LP; The Swedish and Dutch singles of "Shocking Blue" come to mind; usually "hot" cuts that offer up more the average LP. To hear old favorite in MONO (or STEREO) - different than the usual version is often a very pleasant surprise.

There is also another aspect that I enjoy, and that is "the necessity of taking time". I very much enjoy 78rpm discs; but often it can take longer to find, carefully clean, adjust the machine and so on than the time it takes for the disc to play - which I think gives a certain "Time Machine Effect" I refer to fairly often. To imagine an era where there was little need to hurry for much of anything, it makes the focus on the Enjoyment of Listening complete; and to choose an essentially new 1920's disc, and take all the time necessary to obtain, prepare and enjoy. The 1960's 7" discs were usually exceptionally well made, and the pressings are fantastic; of course, it now requires Patience and sometimes quite a bit of extra expense to obtain, but these Beautifully made and packaged discs are worth every penny to find as New, or in NOS; the sound and range have no rivals; digital recordings have their place, but quality 7" discs can be unbelievably full, rich and so very enjoyable. That is the
main reason I have looked for and obtained them all these years til today, and I will continue.
