friday releases
just realised that albums now come out on friday. it feels weird. aparently it is to make music a global 'occasion' (and not cut down on piracy). what do you think of this? does it matter?
“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness
'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.
'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.
'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”

Re: friday releases
i think that their stated reason is bullshit and it's definitely to cut down on piracy. and it's not going to work.
the only way to fight piracy is to stop releasing digital music. No downloads, no CDs. Just put out everything on vinyl and tape. People would still rip and share, but probably less than now. I'd welcome a return to all vinyl, but I really prefer carrying an mp3 player to a walkman and a few tapes.
