I listened to a few tracks from this and it sounds really great. Definitely going to pick it up. I never expected to have interest in late 80's NY, but here we are.

Wow - this is an incredible album. A few tracks are immediately up there in the pantheon of my all-time NY greats!
Old Black is way heavy in the mix, with that awesome and dirty echoed tone. The combined forces of the Stray Gators and Crazy Horse and others, plus what sounds like the standard Stax horn section... why did he not record an album with this line-up in 1988?
Respect for Neil Young - he just does what he wants to do.
The 20 minute version of 'Tonight's The Night' is stunning. Holy shit!

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. There is a slight element of SRV cheese to it, but in a weird way, that's part of the appeal, as I've never heard Neil do this style before. I love the horns. The only song so far that has been a big turnoff for me is "Doghouse," but that's a minor gripe considering the fact that there are 23 songs on the set. Agree on "Tonight's The Night" ... fucking killer.

It is a 19 minute surf/garage version of Tonight's The Night that could go on forever as far as I am concerned.

It's like Neil Young and a big band doing their take on this:
Just beautiful...

Only just got round to this tonight, what an incredible listen! Crime in the City, what a jam on here.
I'm really excited to see his tour with TPOTR next year, the sets have looked great and what I've seen online the band seems to really be hitting it off with him.
