Anyone have the 1997-10-29 show?

Post by good dope/good fun »

I think the date is 1997-10-29.
It might be 10-27.
But I'm pretty sure it was the end of October in 97.
Cuts off during Cop Shoot Cop...
FM source?
I lost that show some time ago when my hard drive crashed, and for some crazy reason it popped into my head today.

Would be greatly appreciated.

It's the 29th October (I think). It's from Radio 1 Sound City @ Oxford Brookes Uni introduced by Steve Lamacq. It was released as a bootleg CD called 'Spaced Out' with the Jools Holland performance at the end. I have the CD in a box somewhere but have always been unable to rip it to my hard drive.

you could be right- I was just going by the date. original poster mentions it cuts off during Cop Shoot Cop. Steve Lurpak comes in at the end.

It is Sound City. I supplied the tape to the guy who did Cds. Plus a few Jools Holland tracks at the end.

i'm ashamed to find that funny
“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness

'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.

'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.

'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”

Just found that I have this show as 320 MP3s that were ripped from the original WAV files. Can upload if it's desired.

Thanks so much.
Like I said, I was listening to the CN Tower show and this one popped in my head as another '97.
I remember it sounding really good but lost it some time ago when my external drive crashed.
Thanks so much for uploading it.

can't take credit for that one unfortunately!, anyone of a certain age will remember that this is what Mark & Lard used to call him on Radio 1. Mary Anne Hobbs was Mary Anne Hobgoblin. when I was in sixth form I used to play Playstation all afternoon and listen to Mark & Lard, then later that night the Evening Session and perhaps John Peel. halcyon days.
of course all these DJs are now washed up and on 6music ;)

anyway I digress..

I just noticed that the files I shared are m4a rather than mp3 format- apologies. blame Apple and Itunes and their control freakery for that one.

iTunes encoding can be changed in the preferences, back to MP3 and a high bit-rate like 320.
