Re: Rolling Stones : Blue & Lonesome
this album is getting pretty good reviews, the general consensus is that this is something they should have done years ago. production nice and raw, banged out in a few days.
can't believe it's been 10 years since A Bigger Bang, which I actually thought wasn't bad

Got it at the weekend. Waiting for an empty house so I can crank the volume up.
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

Please report back. I've heard that the mastering on the cd and digital versions is horrible. Guessing the vinyl is better.
Re: Rolling Stones : Blue & Lonesome
Been listening to the 'Complete 1964 BBC Sessions'.
That's when they were still raw and fresh and Jagger had a voice.
On 'Blue and Lonesome' his thin irritating sound is laid too much on top of the music, for me it's too much the Jagger Show featuring the Rolling Stones & a bit E Clapton.
Haven't heard the vinyl version yet, expect to find under some tree next week!
Anyway, and a happy birthday for mr. Richards!

"Thank you"

I have to say I was not that impressed. I listened to it 3 times and gave it to someone else. Probably more enjoyable than any record since Tattoo You but to be honest that isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
On the other hand there is this
Soundboard from a theater show in Detroit 1978.
