I like Giger but, as with R. Crumb, I'm more thankful that they both found art as an outlet for their imagination. Otherwise, I think both of them would have been in jail. Their images are dark, disturbing and detail fetishes that most of us cannot imagine or, we wouldn't dare speak about in public.

Isn't that the point? They portray humanity's taboo side. It's not that they're the only ones who see it. It's the matter that everyone decides to ignore rather than face. Psychology is political.
