I was also at the gig - AMAZING!

I managed to get his handwritten lyrics for ladies and gents we are floating in space after the gig.

What a gig.

A great gig, sound is always great at Mandela Hall, well worth the trip from Donegal.
Can't wait for the new album now!

“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness

'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.

'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.

'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”

What a gig! Two days later and I'm still reeling - partly from the almost dangerous levels of strobing, but mostly because I felt absolutely spoiled by an amazing selection of music played with real spirit and sheer bloody crowd pleasing.

While there was nothing from LGM or A&E, we got a few cuts each from Pure Phase and Amazing Grace, five from Ladies and Gentlemen as well as five new ones. But regardless of what album they were playing from, the band seemed totally relaxed and celebratory, happy to roll out some classics.

Highlights for me were a storming opener in Come Together, what can only be described as a bliss-krieg (sic) during Hey Jane, Oh Baby's lulling but spooky bass runs, the totally sublime, totally devastating Born Never asked/ Electric Mainline interlude, the crowd singing along during Ladies and Gentlemen... , and THAT devastating finale of Stay With Me. All before they returned for a triumphant Electricty and a grooving, voodoo workout of Cop Shoot Cop.

Can't wait for the new album.
