Guessing the LPF wouldn't allow the headliner to play Manchester/Leeds. It's a shame, cause I can't go to the psych fest probably.

Cannot wait to see Goat at Liverpool Psych Fest. I was lucky enough to get one of the initial batch of the Live Ballroom Ritual vinyls. and if that and their set from Glasto from an armchair perspective are anything to go by this will be immense.

Runcible - are you based in Leeds? Surely Newcastle isn't too far? Being based in Carlisle we tend to have to travel 1-2 hours to Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester or Liverpool to see anything, so I guess travelling to anything for us is standard.

I was very privileged to see Goat at ATP before Xmas. Granted their set was augmented by an ex-member of The Heads on insane wah-wah guitar, but the whole show was fantastic. The atmosphere in the room changed noticeably as soon as they began playing. I was standing by the mixing desk watching the goings on..... The two lead vocalists (shouters??) are hilarious. Suffice to say it was one of the better shows I have seen in yonks (although I enjoyed Kandodo more at ATP). Hopefully Goat will not suffer from the poor/thin sound that lots of the bands in the main room at the Psyche Fest get.

I'm too old to whizz up there and back in an evening, plus Monday nights are school nights so that kind of scuppers it. If they were playing in Leeds I'd go though.

Liverpool and Newcastle are definitely The North in my book!

agree with Olan about the set we saw at ATP. it was brilliant musically and also just a great feelgood, uplifting show. in stark contrast to a lot of ATP stuff which can be more abstract or moody.

Just announced for the Body and Soul festival, which is half an hour from my house. First Irish appearance.

Despite my reservations about the band and not been impressed at LPF I am excited by this :? I certainly believe that they will be the act everyone is talking about after the weekend.
