Another Spacemen book?

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Scam.

Looks like someone set up a publishing company to reprint Wikipedia articles and try and sell them as proper books.

http://www.chrisrand.com/blog/index.php ... ublishing/

Reading this blog it appears that the books themselves don't actually exist until someone orders one, at which point the relevant wiki pages are printed off, bound and sent out to the unlucky customer as a book.

Shame, great cover for a Sp3 book - who knew there was a mystery 3rd guitarist............. she looks to be more getting more attention from the fans that Pete or Jason ever did.

Incredible, a search on Amazon for 'Betascript', one of the publishers responsible for this, brings up 192, 368 titles. All wiki reprints.

I work in academia and a similar scam was rife a couple of years ago. Academics would receive emails from a publishing house offering to 'publish' their PhD thesis. All they would in fact do was give it an ISBN number and hope that academic libraries picked it up and automatically ordered it. They'd then print it on demand for a not insignificant fee. In the main, PhD theses are freely exchanged between universities anyway.

You know it's gold when it says "High quality content by Wikipedia articles!"

As Michael Scott from the US version of The Office said, "Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject. So you know you are getting the best possible information."

now each in his holy hill
the glittering and hurting days are alomst done
then let us compare mythologies

 I don't know which one is the best. Probably the second one, but the first is also smashing.
W: What are we supposed to do with that?
M: Eat it.
W: Eat it? Fucker’s alive.
M: Yeah, you’ve got to kill it.
W: Me? I’m the firelighter and fuel collector.

heh, thats funny, considering i amended large chunks of the sp3 wiki entry.

i'd love to have the time to re-visit erik morse's book, not that i'd criticise it whatsoever to be honest, just have the ability to iron out some of the gaps in it, and correct the odd thing, but im a complete pedant, and i'd never have enough time to do it properly.

I like the flow of the biography. I totally adore the book, but I'm sure some things could be added. Although I always thought of it as supplementary reading... It did cover some aspects, especially because of additional interviews, that weren't covered before. I think it's cool how he put the whole thing together, it's intertwining the different eras into one big thing. He makes a lot of conclusions that are not that obvious. He put an interesting order into the Spacemen universe.
