That's the one! The bassline goes D to G too, but it kinda has a duuuum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-duuum, duuuum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-duuum thing going on... Anyone know if those bass notes are D/D/B/D/D/B/D/B/D, G/G/E/G/G/E/G/E/G ..?

Used to know it on the bass. I'll figure it out and post it when i get the chance. Right now is difficult because of some undiagnosed condition in my right arm (cyst? tendonitis? fracture?) that causes ridiculous pain when I try to play.

I'm fairly certain that it's D & G7.
The G7 requires you to play the bottom string on the first fret rather than the third, giving it a more bluesy twang than a straight up G chord would.
Try it out..and when you switch over to G7 from D, pluck down on the top 3 strings on the first strum, then accent the remaining strums on the bottom 3 strings (and when you strum up, strike harder than when you are strumming down in order to get as much bluesy twang out of that bottom string as possible). In effect, you almost get 3 chords out of it that way.....Pay close attention to the guitar starting at 1:30 into the song as well as how the horns chase the tone. Anyway, hope that makes sense.

So I picked up the bass and it came back to me.
The basic gist of the song:
The basic gist of the song:
Underlying the song are the "Feel So Sad" notes:----7---7-7-7---5------------------5-----7---7-7-7---5-----------------5
-------------5h7-7-5---5---5-5-5h7---------------5h7-7-5---5---5-5-5h7-
5------------------------------------5----------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It appears that the beginning notes of "FSS" are on a second bass track, starting around at the second chorus and appearing at several points thereafter. Recreating it by me lonesome, it sounds something like this:----------------
4---5---7---5---
--5---5---5---5-
----------------
This is the first time i've ever used tablature, so the rhythm might be off at a few spots. Just play around with it.-----------------5------------------5-
------4---5-5-5h7-7-5---5---5-5-5h7--
5-------5----------------------------
--------------------------------------

What is 5h7 - what does that mean? Not well up on my tab!

Hammer, as in MC.HowYouSatisfyMe wrote:What is 5h7 - what does that mean? Not well up on my tab!
You pluck the 5 and then play the 7 without plucking again.

How do you mean, not plucking again? (I don't play bass, just starting, so excuse the dumb questions!)
