Re: Sonic Boom - Spectrum (first album)
It's the first record I can remember getting high to by myself, 15 years old, parents out, smoked a nice spliff and lay on the bed and just drifted, and thought "I could happily do this for the rest of my life". Still remember it so vividly. I'm still a bit resentful that I've not been abl...

Absolutely fantastic, this. It's joyous. Shame the vinyl isn't due to ship until December.
Can't help but think they missed a trick not naming the tracks "Getting to the Dub", "Edge of the Dub", "Living in the Dub" etc. though.

Boldy James & Sterling Toles - Manger on McNicholls Honestly this is an absolutely mindblowing LP. It was released in 2020, but Boldy James did the vocals about 10 years ago, and Sterling Toles, the producer, has been tinkering with it, adding live instrumentation, leaving and going back to it, ...

I'm a huge fan of Terry Bickers, he's one of my favourite guitarists. Never too over the top, his tone is unique and instantly recognisable, and he brings the magic to anything he plays on. He should be rated up there with the likes of Johnny Marr, John Squire, Bernard Butler, Nick McCabe etc. The H...

The single is bloody excellent, and sounds like a proper collaboration. Sonic said that Noah really pushed him to contribute vocals and lyrics as well as sounds. I'm really excited for this album. Still haven't got bored of this year's 40 Watt Sun LP - came out in January but the vinyl only arrived last week due to the well-known problems at pressing plants currently. I really like this album. I feel more enthusiastic about it than I have about a Spiritualized record in years. Hit me hard, this one.
I've been immersed in his catalogue for the last couple of months.
Have been listening to his stuff since I got up this morning and will raise a glass this evening. One of my generation's best voices. Not heard any music of his I don't like.

I'd bite their (Sony's?) arm off for a reissue of Soul Kiss. You can't really avoid that issue on a live album, although LCD Soundsystem (and I'm sure others) issued their live vinyl with sides A/C on LP1, B/D on LP2, etc. Means that someone (usually DJs) with more than one turntable can cue up side B and play it continuously after side A, rather than having...

Disappointed with the LGM reissue. I got the black vinyl, there are a shocking amount of pops and clicks on it for a new record, record 2 is visibly warped, and the re-done inner sleeve artwork is incredibly lazy.
