Re: Let The Right One In

Just saw this last night and enjoyed it, I think I heard it was based on a book, anyone read that at all and if so, how is it ?

Oh, well obviously someone getting hurt isn't funny, I was just wondering if this was some new goal keeping gear that was starting to be adopted, thanks for the info.

Re: euro 2008

Quick question, I'm not a huge football fan or anything, but I do enjoy watching it occasionally. Anyways, I got to see the Czech Republic Vs Potugal yesterday and The keeper for the Czech team had on a funny looking sort of world war 1 padded pilot type hat on. I'm assuming this is to protect his h...

Re: New Mercury Rev album news

"self luminous" and "astonishing" songs? I know it's a press release type item and all, but that doesn't inspire me with a lot of confidence. Of course, I'm one of those fans who prefer their earlier albums and haven't really been able to get into the last couple of albums quite ...

Re: Red Wings Ice Hockey

Detoit hasn't won in 6 years, seems like a drought. The finals were really enjoyable, best series Detroit played in this postseason. You gotta think the Penguins are going to be pretty good for the next while if they're able to keep their core together , it really reminded me of when Detroit got to ...

Re: Who's waiting for the official release?

Yeah, I've been waiting too. I kind of stare at the album discussions that have been at the top of the music thread about the new album and then sigh and go over to the other or spaceman 3 sections. I've been trying to avoid any discussion of it whatsoever, because I'm going to get it no matter what...

Really liked Passover, good to hear they have a new album out soon. Any idea if they have plans to come to North America any time soon?

Other then Bells, I haven't heard of any of those others that are in Michigan. And I knew Bells had a pretty solid reputation, but I didn't know it was that good. Maybe I'll swing on over to dexter sometime this week to check out that Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales. Ahh, beer :D

Re: Most Miserable U.S. City, the winner is ...

I think Detroit just has that reputation now. I was talking with the wife of a friend who is from the Grand Rapids area, and she was mentioning how some relatives of hers were driving to Canada or New York or something and how they were afraid to drive through Detroit, they wre going to to go throug...

Re: Most Miserable U.S. City, the winner is ...

Ha, I live in Ypsilanti, where all the people who have been kicked out of the Detroit projects end up moving to. The neighborhood I live in is fine, but just a few blocks down Michigan Ave is a whole 'nother story. I actually lived over there for a little while, until I got the cinderblock thrown th...

Re: Soundtrack of our lives.

Great topic! Mid 70's early 80's: easy listening stations in my mom's car, Abba, Neil Diamond, Anne Murray.etc dad was a big Beach Boys and Eagles and Crosby Stills & Nash fan though he was just as likely to be listening to sports. When I got a little older I remember listening to Casey Casem's ...

I've heard bits and pieces of the soundtrack album, it's ok, seemed more along the lines of deserters songs then their more recent album. No lyrics that I noticed but I've only heard 3 or 4 songs. I haven't been as big a fan of their more recent stuff which is probably why I haven't tried to check o...

Remake of SGT Pepper

http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/42303447 Oasis, the Killers and The Kaiser Chiefs are going to be covering songs from the album in honor of the 40th anniversary of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Can't say I'm a huge fan of any of them so I am less then overwhelmed, but thought a few people he...

I love the Zatoichi movies, starring Shintaro Katsu, there's about 20 and if you've seen one you pretty much know how the formula for the rest of them goes, but who doesn't love movies about a blind, Yakuza masseuse who's an expert swordsman? Also saw the Departed this fall, not Scorcese's best, but...

26 $ ?

I usually just lurk, but his posts are one of the reasons I check this sight out, don't always agree with them, but they're always interesting.

So what's going on? When will this big project be finished ?

Anyone?

Cheers- Go Pistons!
