Re: Scottish Referendum
I was very interested in the Scottish vote for Independence; and at the time, I was flat on my back and had been for some time already; so, I READ A LOT! I tried to consider all the relevant reasons pro and con; exactly why I was convinced at that time the YES VOTE was so very unlikely is no longer...

Strange Friend - The Phantom Band
New Phantom Band album is great. Melodic, uplifting, beautifully crafted tunes. They played almost the whole album in Glasgow the other night. Not a weak track on the album IMO. There's a load of amazing influences distilled into something quite brilliant. Doom patrol is an absolute classic.

Yeah, I'd include Mathew E White up there too. There are a few others missing too but it was off the top of my head. I wasn't grabbed by the DP album, but there's some good tracks on it.

Anyone been watching this?
It's excellent in a kind of 'fuck with your head way'. Nicely acted and shot against a stunning backdrop, with a perfect soundtrack by Mogwai.
Ever so slightly slowly paced but I can forgive that.

I like this. Its about 3 songs too long, but a decent effort. Agree with Niahm about the SOOL opinion. I loved 'Behind the music', so this appeals to my taste. Wearing the influences on the sleeve doesn't offend me as long as the tunes are there. It's definitely not an Oasis album, who I can take or...
