Re: Forged Prescriptions

Sonic's previous comments about the first disk being an alternative PP make even more sense in this context. It's the same tracks as the original FP CD, but the running order is slightly rearranged, and flows better across two sides of vinyl. I'm not sure how intentional that was, but it just works...

Re: Forged Prescriptions

Listening to it now, I got mine from Amazon. I totally agree with the comments about both the packaging and the pressing. I'd expected a shitty 2020s pressing, muffled, tight grooves, bass-heavy, murky and poor-quality fuzzy vinyl, but instead it's this beautiful, wide-open, clear sound that you use...

I got vibes of Suicide (the PWF track) from the first half or so of Mainline. I definitely also got a Big City vibe from the second half, but Suicide was the one that I felt more strongly on first listen.

Walking with Jesus/In My Time of Dying

We all know that Come Down Easy is a Spacemen take on In My Time Of Dying, but I recently had occasion to glance at the lyrics (Bob Dylan's version), and spotted this: Well, meet me, Jesus, meet me Meet me in the middle of the air If these wings should fail me, Lord Won't you meet me with another pa...

I was very disappointed by Pure Phase at the time. I felt that there were too many previously-released tracks on it, the sound quality was very muddy and indistinct, lacking in both low-end bollocks and high-end definition, the two-channel mixing seemed more gimmicky and conceited than of value, and...

Seems like Born Never Asked could have been moved to side 3. I haven't tallied the times, but it is a more natural-sounding split. I'm saying "yes" on the following grounds. Jason quite clearly has two creative outlets: his solo stuff/collaborations as "J Spaceman" and his band-based work as "Spiritualized". There's a distinction in the type of work he does with each, in that "J Spaceman"...
