I loved Candleland. Admittedly, it's not as edgy (?!!) as some of the Bunnymen's other stuff but it's still a brilliant album. (IMHO.) This next one sounds fantastic (the three-disc deal and so forth.) I can't wait!!!

I'm going to see the Raveonettes tonight with a friend of mine. I know that in these parts they are probably seen as a pink, fluffy guilty pleasure but I thoroughly enjoy their music. I've never seen them live yet (hence tonight's show) and I don't know what to expect. Anybody?

Swans have always held a dark spot in my heart. M. Gira's book of short stories, The Consumer, is right up there with Cows. I might check Swans out when they roll through Detroit, though seeing bands from that period in this day and age has turned to regret and horror (i.e. Sisters of Mercy, et.al....

I've been a huge fan for a long time. Swans tend to gravitate towards the goth/industrial crowd. I used to be into that a long time ago. (I think a few of us might have been!) Whatever the genre, Michael Gira and Jarboe are both incredible songwriters. I'm looking forward!
