Royal Trux - 'White Stuff'

I had no idea that the mighty Royal Trux had actually recently released a new album! Where have I been? It's sounding great, beautifully broken and distorted (in every real sense) variations on pop melodies. Kool Keith appears halfway and it doesn't sound strange at all in the Trux universe. They st...

I really enjoyed reading this - thanks John! Like the best of reflective music criticism, it immediately made me want to listen to this record again. Ah man, I'm so torn on this. It's Spiritualized - in Scotland! - at last. Last time they played up here my oldest child was still in his mothers belly. I only heard of Yak due to their supporting gig at the initial 2018 Spiritualized show in London. I'd never even heard of this festival. Sounds like it had its fair share of memorable moments... A local band Flying Crap fired a shotgun from the stage in 1995. Mayhem threw pigs' heads at the audience in 2001. Kristopher Schau attached an engine to a dead pig and used it as a boat in 2003. Two pe...
