I'm tempted by the Earthless one too. But I am a bit dubious about how enjoyable this kind of thing would be. I know they are cheaper than a normal gig but I'm still unsure. It is important to try and support bands though. Ride did one a few weeks ago which I didn't go for but apparently was a shamb...

bit of a red herring, this. the same thing was reported a few months back but the real story is that vinyl has surpassed revenue for CDs, not number of units sold. a record costs much more than a CD obviously. I'm still banging the drum for CDs and I buy both formats depending on various factors. CD...

couple of new things piquing my interest: Mary Lattimore - Silver Ladders. a collaboration with Neil from Slowdive, it's nice and minimalist so you could potentially compare it to Pygmalion. but also, on this song when Neil does his guitar stuff it brings to mind Durutti Column for sure. https://www...

I certainly used to think that. A lot of music I love was discovered at a younger age. Well - 1979 for example, when I was 14. A key era was the late 80s when I was around 23, 24. Spacemen 3 hit me then. But I was 43 when I got I to the Grateful Dead and I've been obsessed with a lot of their music...

Re: 5/1/95 video

Well up the thread someone said Lisner was great quality so think I'll start with that Yep, setlist changes with the band are so rare. Part of me wishes they were one of those bands that mixed up the set night after night, but that doesn't seem to be Jason's bag at all. Too risky! It just means that...

Re: Hammersmith 2001 Video

Well there's no better time to watch this stuff than on lockdown right? LICD shows these are the ones that sprang to mind. There's this Brixton Academy show which I recall being streamed live at the time. Epic setlist, a pretty self indulgent show in the best possible way haha https://youtu.be/4vmvs...

Re: Hammersmith 2001 Video

Wasn't Patrick Farr actually the lighting engineer? When the band had that superb light show. So many great vids popping up just now. How do you find them all Joycey, have you got alerts set up or something? There's plenty of video of the latter LICD shows (especially festivals etc) but I think you'...

Re: 5/1/95 video

If anyone has been geeky enough to watch all of these 95 tour vids, which one would you say is the best to start with?

Re: Mark Lanegan Interview

He'd also be criticised if he didn't respond. To be fair it seems like it's literally just one page that mentions Liam and its the press who have picked up on it. It is quite unbecoming of a man his age to be getting involved in this. But part of me loves the idea of Liam getting a pasting. He 100% ...

New one is really good, I don't think you guys will be disappointed. Can definitely hear the Panda Bear influence again.
This album is shaping up to be great.

Re: Spectrum Live Footage 92-95

Excellent find Sunray, I've just subscribed. According to the comments he's got a few 95 Spz shows and will post each of them on their 25th anniversary He's also uploaded a Spiritualized soundcheck which was great to watch in a geeky way! Will have to watch the Mercury Rev one as I know many here ha...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

Was supposed to be seeing them last Thurday, currently rescheduled for mid -Sept but I can see that being moved again, so this makes a nice way to tide us over, and yes it sounds great, massive, hope it makes it to vinyl at some point as well. Yeah it was cool of them to release the album on the sa...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

I know there's at least a couple of other Twilight Sad fans on the board. they've released a live album as 'pay what you want'. properly mixed and sounding powerful, this is no 'just take it straight from the soundboard' jobbie https://thetwilightsad.bandcamp.com/album/it-won-t-be-like-this-all-the-...
