Re: New stuff from Pete this year?

Can't be bothered to go back through the Reddit thread now (I also found it hard to navigate!) but didn't Pete also say that the new material was played live (perhaps in its entirety?) at gigs in recent years. Perhaps it was still instrumental then.

Adam, your Mogwai list is very similar to what mine might be like. Re: The Dylan Thread

Murder Most Foul is great, wonder when he recorded it. from the arrangement and his singing voice (almost the 'Sinatra voice') it sounds like it was in the past few years. the musical arrangement is great, lots of space, and the number of lyrical references is overwhelming. if I was being churlish i...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

A whole day of it :D Six Organs of Admittance - Companion Rises: New lp and combines Ben Chasny's finger picking and electric wig-outs simultaneously with added electronics at times. The juxtaposition of acoustic and noise really worked for me. great isn't it? as a Six Organs super fan (I've recent...

Re: Int'l Women's Day vocalist list. What happened to Speck Mountain?

weird isn't it. usually it's very much the other way around. CDs are like cars, they lose most of their value as soon as you get your hands on them! the amazon thing is way off the chart though. I think there's an algorithm working which looks at how many copies are available in the market place vs ...

Re: Article about Leeds Brudenell Club ("A week in the life of a British Venue")

glad you enjoyed the article. I thought it was interesting hearing about the behind the scenes of the venue in particular.

it's a venue I've never been to (hopefully one day! but it's just so far away), reading this it seems like it basically ticks every box!

Re: This message board. Time for a change.

one thing I've seen done on other message boards is a track by track run through of a bands catalogue- everyone can rate each track out of 10, and we can get some good discussion going on the catalogue as a whole. however I'm not sure there's enough regular posters on here to make it worthwhile. loo...

Yeah I very much doubt Gerald Palmer had any hand in the new Sonic album. He probably put the links on his site to give it some appearance of legitimacy

Totally forgot about Speck Mountain, will have to dig out the album of theirs I've got. Some bands just seem to disappear.

Also a big fan of what Rachel Fannan brings to her bands.
