Totally forgot about Speck Mountain, will have to dig out the album of theirs I've got. Some bands just seem to disappear.

The Heads and Sonic Boom is a real coup! everything else is gravy really. it's a great lineup for sure. much better than Liverpool. either of those acts would have made a great headliner there (as would Stereolab who appear to have been poached by Manchester Psych Fest).

relatively new purchase is the new boxset of Y by The Pop Group. bit disappointing to be honest, the remaster of the original album sounds good, but the extras could have easily fitted on one CD and no real revelations there.

The highlight for me though is 'Mom's Song'. wasn't say it was a lost classic, but definitely a hidden gem of sorts in terms of the shoegaze scene.
I first came to them from the (excellent) Ride cover of Sight Of You. it's pretty cool when bands cover songs from their contemporaries I think.

had a listen this morning- it's not doing much for me on first listen either. yeah it's weird, even though the board doesn't actually have that much activity, I did kinda miss it when it was down for a few days. it's strange.
