I'd also make the case for 1997 myself. lots of established bands either reaching some kind of peak, or new bands coming out with great albums Most years from 1989 to 1997 were pretty solid with stacks of great/classic albums. I don't envy trying to choose the best version of Electric Mainline! I'd vote for the version on the Electricity single. Had a quick listen to Rose City Band, quite liking it.

This isn't a criticism- but I think it's interesting how all of Ripley's projects, you can right away tell it's him.
It's almost like, given a different arrangement and treatment, the songs could fit in with his other bands.

Yeah this is a hell of a project! Really good one to do though. I agree it will be tricky with those songs which have changed over the years. Yeah I'd question that, but obviously I wasn't there so I don't know. Really intetesting article. It actually gives an insight into the recording of a lot of Ladies and gentlemen, not just Come Together. It's interesting how a lot of it was actually captured in live takes. Although it's a warm sound...

No my recording doesn't have Born Never Asked on it, no Lamaqc either. maybe there was a bigger proportion of the set broadcast on radio?
