Re: New 'Song Of The Day' Thread

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2i2pSOhUEs Listen to the new hypnotic and trance-fueled vibes of the Finnish collective SIINAI. They've received only positive reviews all over the world (even Pitchfork). For people who appreciate Brian Eno, Krautrock, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Drone, etc... SIINAI is als...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

Boris performing 'Flood' live in Tokyo, 2012 with Michio Kurihara (Ghost).

An official recording (FLAC).
Perfect quality, insanely loud & trippy. Rewarding.

For those good relaxing times...make it a "Boris" time.

I would also love a copy of this! It's great that some people have the skills and patience to do something like this. :)

Re: Songs similar to Primal Scream's 'Loaded' etc.

Thank you all for wonderful hints! I'll do my best do plow through all of them tomorrow. And just to make sure, I've heard just about everything Spiritualized has ever done so no need to link them up anymore. :) I would've originally asked about all of this through Webadelica but right now they don'...

Re: Songs similar to Primal Scream's 'Loaded' etc.

Have a listen to One Dove's 'Morning Dove White' from 1991, another Weatherall job and very good too. That album often gets compared to Screamadelica for obvious reasons, and while I'm not going to get into the same old argument about Weatherall's influences this album kind of proves what I've alwa...

Songs similar to Primal Scream's 'Loaded' etc.

Hello there, after watching the great BBC documentary about the making of Screamadelica and listening to that amazing DJ-setlist by Andrew Weatherall of the songs which inspired Screamadelica, I suddenly had to look deeper into those days and sounds. If there's anyone here who could recommend me som...

Re: Joensuu 1685 touring in England

The tour is over but here is the brand new video from the band, a song called Electric Ocean Sailor which is a noisy BRMCish gospel song and it's mixed to be played with their previous video and song called Crystal Light. So the best way to experience these two is to first watch the previous video (...

Joensuu 1685 touring in England

The psychedelic hurricane from Finland hits the U.K. again starting from 14.5. 2010 at the Great Escape - festival in Brighton. From there on couple of shows in London with Wolf Parade and more (check out the whole tour list: http://www.myspace.com/joensuu1685). Highly recommended for the fans of JA...

Re: Joensuu 1685

Hello! I know the band and have been a fan for couple of years now. I live in Finland where the band is also from. :-) They are truly a great piece of work, especially if you get a chance to see them live. On record they might sound still a bit lost at times, but once they get their live set-up goin...

Finland, Helsinki Tavastia 6.11.2008

Hey, just wanted to tell you guys about the gig last night here in Finland! The setlist was basically the same as in Gothenburg. The noise level was very respectable, after Cheapster (4th song) I had to use earplugs because literally my ears were burning. But all part of a good experience. The place...
