Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?

How's the new Moon Duo album treating those that have it so far? I normally snap up their stuff when it comes out but have hesitated this time around as it's not really grabbing me. More of the same but with more synths and a 'cold wave' vibe but it's not hitting like their earlier releases. plods ...

Re: Lift To Experience

I considered the boxset too, but it's over twice the price of the 2x LP. And I'm sure I've already got MP3s of the Peel Session and EP somewhere.
Now if only they could do a few more gigs...

Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?

'In the Garden' & the Drifters Sympathy podcast got me digging into Holy Sons' back catalogue, but a couple of other things too: Moon Duo - Occult Architecture vol 1 Lift to Experience - Texas Jerusalem Crossroads (2xLP reissue) Holy Sons - The Fact Facer Holy Sons - Fall of Man Grails - Chalice Hym...

Re: Donald & Hillary

^I find it confusing too. I don't see how any of it can be defended. Strong vetting was already in place, and clearly effective. Tbh I am confused about the antagonism towards Iran - in fact that was one of my main worries if Hillary had been elected, the Middle East doesn't need any escalation and ...

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

I think I actually preferred Bo Ningen overall. they were a nice bit of gonzo psych rock, some pretty heavy moments and throwing some rock shapes. The singer had this strange signing style that's almost rapping at times. The end of set blowout was great, lots of feedback and standing on top of amps...

Re: Life Is A Problem / Mississippi Records

That would have been around the time he visited the UK and Europe showing some of the Alan Lomax archive. I attended in Glasgow, interesting night.

Re: Ticket stub challenge

I only started keeping my ticket stubs after moving to Glasgow. I did collect a few setlists back in Paris and would have kept some festival wristbands etc. Back in France there was effectively a single ticket outlet with a single ticket design, I definitely envied the paper tickets of all colours f...

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

Calexico & Friends, Royal Concert Hall, part of Celtic Connections. I have a friend who quite likes to go to one or two Celtic Connections gig every year, and as I'm not a huge fan of the more traditional stuff, I suggested Calexico. I'm not overly familiar with their catalogue tbh, neither did I kn...

Re: What gigs have you got coming up?

Travelling to Nottingham for the Six By Seven reunion gig on March 4th.
Their plan is to play all of The Closer You Get + extra set.

Then back in Glasgow
Grails
Moon Duo

I don't think Grandaddy are going to add a Glasgow date? I hope there are still tickets for the Edinburgh gig.
