Yeah I was there too, and I'm mostly gonna echo what's already been said. The A song was definitely my highlight - it sounded phenomenal! My main regret is mistiming my ciggie/loo/bar break and missing The Morning After. Or rather misjudging how long it would take. (The bar being outside the venue w...

in terms of the virtual gigs thing, although I like the concept (and a great way to support artists) it's not something I've been really trying myself. for me a big part of gigs is experiencing it through a big PA, the atmosphere in the room etc. plus my laptop is on it's last legs and I can't work...

I doubt this would ever happen (I think reissues of the individual singles/EPs is more likely) but it would be expensive as hell. A Complete Works vinyl set with the existing track listing would have to run at least 6 or 7 LPs. Easily over 100 GBP. Mind you, there's at least one track repeated betw...

Re: London Sessions: Föllakzoid feat. J. Spaceman

So not an RSD release, but RSD prices for sure, ouch. (working out at £14/£18 best exchange rate). Still I'm going to be very tempted to pick up that ltd edition 12"!

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

SO good! I've been enjoying Dark Vol I so much that I've started to worry I may not like the Light side very much, but this certainly sounds promising :) In anticipation of tonight's Grails gig, and providing some interesting background to what's influenced Chalice Hymnal: Emil Amos' Drifter's Symp...

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

Six By Seven at the Maze in Nottingham. This was the big original line up reformation for a few dates only gig. 200 tickets were available through Kickstarter, and I didn't really think twice! Nice wee venue, just outside of the city centre, the sound was good and loud, and the place was packed but ...

Re: Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia 2017

I guess the quality of the lineup is always subjective but I'm certainly more than happy with this first annoucement. people need to check out Chris Forsyth and the Solar Motel Band. the 'Solar Motel' album itself is one of my absolute favourites of recent years. imagine if Television suddenly deci...

Re: What gigs have you got coming up?

After a bit of a struggle, managed to get tickets for JAMC at the Barrowlands at the end of next month, part of the 6Music weekend, support from Ride, Warpaint -who? - and Sleaford Mods, fancy checking them out, so pretty stoked for this show. I hesitated for that one.Tickets went fast unsurprising...

Re: Lift To Experience

anyone got their mitts on the new version of this? thoughts? If you've still only heard the new Falling From Cloud Nine - that's probably the closest to the original. The new mix makes the original sound quite muddy in comparison. A few of the changes don't always work for me ("When We Shall T...

Re: What gigs have you got coming up?

I don't think Grandaddy are going to add a Glasgow date? I hope there are still tickets for the Edinburgh gig. I ended up delaying again but did well to wait. There was a 2 or 3 day gap in the tour after Edinburgh, and their support act for the tour then announced a small headline gig in Glas...

Re: Donald & Hillary

Excellent post by mc there. As terminology "the 45s" is a bit confusing since I'm in Scotland, and plenty of Twitter users added a 45 button post indyref. I do get what it means though, really using it to introduce the indyref was an incredible example of old school propaganda through the ...

Re: Lift To Experience

The new mix really makes it sound even more bonkers doesn't it?
I say that in a good way obviously.
I didn't expect it to sound so different - it's definitely a lot clearer and punchier.
