Bit surprised by the price myself but a mate who goes to a lot more gigs than me had warned me not to expect much change from £50 for this one. Seems to be the going rate for bands at this venue. Ullswater and Negative Energy are brilliant songs, loving the album tbh, best thing they`ve done I think and a pretty straightforward progression in their development to my ears, I`ll be surprised if its not one off my fave albums come the yr end, put it beside BRMC and Carlton...

Gerald no doubt has "licensed" the recordings to Superior Viaduct, whoever they are. I wouldn't have thought they were sanctioned by the band for a second. Happy to be wrong, like. Not unexpected with the reports on his health recently but a blow all the same, he`s been a constant figure in my musical landscape for almost 40 yrs, singular talent and for all the Mr Grumpy stuff I always found him very funny, sad news indeed.

Tickets for Mercury Rev in April, acoustic and intimate, doing Deserters Songs, this will be intimate, its in a local Stirling venue that I reckon holds about 200, previously seen The Twilight Sad and Mogwai there, nice little venue.
