How could I forget to mention Doggen"s fantastic wah-Monica?
And lovely to see all of the band members taking time to individually thank the choir master as they left the stage.

Re: Hammersmith Sep 18 - what will the set be?
Well, what a night! Apologies for my rather pointless comments earlier, but I just wanted to catch the moment. For whatever reason, I decided not to go to the Royal Albert Hall back in 1997, a decision I bitterly regretted once I read Steven Wells’ review, and compounded by their appearance on Jools...

I'm hoping we get some/all of ANH in the set. After seeing The Founder Effect earlier in the year, and being blown away by Alan Wilkinson's sax, I'm up for the serious wig-out at the end of "The Morning After" (I'm guessing that's Alan playing on it). Maybe he'll be part of the line-up...

I'm loving it all. I am a total tart. Reading the Q article, it is quite extraordinary that the strings have been built from samples. Such lush production; right up my street. Ok, so it's radio rather than TV, but good to hear "Feel Like Goin' Home" being used for the Radio 4 trail of "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" this morning. Personally I don't think an artist's role is to 'care' about their fans. I agree with Modlab, and believe that any artist with true integrity probably has no concept of fans or critics. They just create art. And I can't help but be attracted to that integrity; perhaps somehow there are enough people...

The music was generally very bluesy. The "Lord Can You Hear Me" riff was a motif throughout. There was a scene around a drunken couple of newly weds, at which point the riff became slurred, sloppy, and... drunk. Then, accompanying some dark, mean scenes, was a tight, churning riff that built and bui...
