Re: some random spiritualized reflections

I already knew the Sp3 version. But that take is fucking unbelievable. To this day, I can hear a space-transmission bleep when it gets really loud. I used to think I’d imagined that in my addled brain. I think it’s there Completely agree, both on how incredible the LICD version of LCYHM? is, and al...

Re: "Everything was beautiful" - New Spiritualized® Album 2022

Not gonna lie, the reissue program fiasco completely put me off purchasing a physical copy of EWB - I bought a WAV download instead. First impressions are that it's not quite as good as ANH, but it does feel like a grower. Crazy definitely makes more sense in the context of the album; Always Togethe...

Re: some random spiritualized reflections

For me, if J had kept the rest of the album version exactly as is, but subbed in this version of the middle section instead, it would be utterly, utterly perfect - Spiritualized's greatest moment. I sometimes wonder why on earth it got ditched - was it because the 4 (?) chiming guitars would be too ...

Not gonna lie, precisely because of the way the reissue campaign turned out, I've only bought a download of EWB so far. That makes me feel so sad, but at the same time, I've wasted far too much money on overpriced useless plastic recently to risk another splurge :(

Re: Keith Flint RIP

Dreadful news. Keith Flint dancing in a tunnel was THE gateway into dance & electronic music for so many nineties indie kids like me. RIP Keith :(

Re: Stereolab - where to start?

Personally, I thought £25 was pretty good value given that even the likes of Spiritualized can get away with charging close to £50 nowadays ;)

Celebrating ticket acquisition by going on a Stereolab listening binge. So far played today: Transient Noise Bursts With Announcements Music For The Amporphous Body Study Center Dots & Loops Mars Audiac Quintet (currently playing) It's been a pleasure reacquainting myself with these old friends :)

It's great to see Jason contributing too - I get the impression he's become less reticent about discussing his past in recent years (e.g. his absence from Erik Morse's book etc.)
