Re: Covers by Spacemen 3

The Deviants song 'I'm Coming Home' has lots of Spacemen in it, including some Feel So Good and Revolution, including Will's bassline for Revolution. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n86gRdJUeBE Pretty sure the release of The Deviants record (Ptooff!, 1967) predates any release of MC5's Black To Comm ...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

If you are into Arethra Franklin, Sister Rosetta was a huge influence. Check out her guitar playing on an SG starting at around 1:40 into the video. Twangtastic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7lN1R2LP-4
Classic stuff.

Re: Hypnotized Chords anyone please....?

I'm fairly certain that it's D & G7. The G7 requires you to play the bottom string on the first fret rather than the third, giving it a more bluesy twang than a straight up G chord would. Try it out..and when you switch over to G7 from D, pluck down on the top 3 strings on the first strum, then ...

"Always thought it was funny that the main men are barely visible, and that Jason looks like he's jumping up behind the others"

Maybe it's a play on "Take Me To The Other Side"...

Take Me To The Other Side 12" cover pic-which one is Jason?

Is Jason the one hiding in the foreground (the short drugged out looking one) on the cover pic of the Take Me To The Other Side 12"? I always thought that was Rosco but now I think Rosco is on the right with the shades and the sorta "mary chain" teased hair. Anyone know for sure?

Re: beach boys

hmm their late 60s / early 70s stuff is the best...even those records can have up to about 33% junk on them depending on the record (that's one of the great things about Pet Sounds in that it's fairly complete...although it's still not my favorite of theirs). here's a cool psychedelic song of theirs...

Re: Sunshine!

apparently they just found "more stuff off the magnetic reels" from the the western works demos... along with an extra version of hookey singing 'dreams never end' is a song called 'are you ready are you ready are ready for this' (sic) which is a cool bleeper done with cabaret voltaire(?)....

Re: Spectrum "forever alien" track lyric

i really, really dig forever alien. it's got to be one of the druggiest records ever. druggy enough where you sorta get pulled into sonic's magick bunny rabbit hole of sounds type thing. it's really too bad that forever alian is so underappreciated. it's difficult to believe they only pressed 1000 r...
