...and all these opinions are coming in without hearing the actual record.

That being said, if the sound is anything close to the RAH gig, this may be the best release since Ladies and Gentlemen. "Jesus/Lord/Fire" is what Jason is about. If you don't like it, find another band to listen to.

both shows i went to were just house lights...no strobes like the last tour (a slight disappointment)

they more than make up for it though with the tightest sound they have produced in years...

Wow. This band is really on the top of it's game at the moment. I think this lineup translates so superbly into the live setting. ok, i just recorded the kexp stream just to find out that they cut out all the "fucks". which means there are a few skips in she kissed me and come together. that kinda pisses me off that kexp would do that. did anyone record the pitchfork stream? cause i'm sure that wouldnt be edited for sensitive ...

well i guess it just is a matter of personal taste. jim dickensons voice doesnt really do it for me...and i've never been into the whole spoken word style of pk. i do admire him for his willingness to try new things and lean toward the more experimental side.

my point was more than, to me, a&e is spiritualized by numbers, it doesnt really vary from the standard spz blueprint in the slightest. this is such lame criticism. any band "by numbers" has been said how many times before by how many different people? does everything have to vary from a blueprint ...

i'm surprised at the lack of people enjoying the closing few songs of the album and namely "waves crash in". i love the story behind the track (old man wishing daughter farewell, etc) and that end few lines...i know you think i'm staggering, but lately i've been staggering back home. beautiful stuff.

this boot and the toronto opera house '03 are like almost the perfect quality you'd find on a official live album. i've loved blasting both in my car. they're almost (but not quite) like the real thing.

You Lie you Cheat is not terrible...it's a great loud blast of angst and guitar noise. Not the best ever by them, but far from the worst. I do hope they add more "new" songs to the upcoming live shows, but I can't complain about YLYC. I would agree with you that Lord Let it Rain on Me is wonderful.....
