Totally adore Shack and pretty much Michael Head has done. American Kid sounds like a decent effort. Going to listen a little more soon. Thanks for the post!

LP Price Guide
Evening folks,
Would someone be so kind as to advise how much I should be paying (to avoid being ripped off) for each Spiritualized LP, from 'Lazer Guided Melodies' to 'Songs in A&E'?
Cheers,
T

Re: Urban Hymns
I remember reading that Nick McCabe's contribution was minimal to say to least, a few guitar licks and layering on tracks like 'Rolling People' and 'Catching the Butterfly'. I wish Richard really had used Urban Hymns as his solo LP because calling it an album by The Verve simply emphasizes Richard's...

Re: Upside Down - The Creation Records Story
I gave the film a cheeky download and I'm glad I didnt pay the £12.99 or whatever HMV were seeling it for. I thought it was a huge trumpet blow for McGee, and Bobby Gillespie and his old Creation partners bigging him got on my nerves. I wanted to hear more about My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and M...

I figured we ought to make a separate thread for this, since it was becoming quite a diversion in the Mercury Rev gig thread. I'm looking forward to hearing thoughts on the cd reissues. I normally don't buy cds at all anymore, but if the remaster job and bonus tracks are worth it in the eyes of my ...

THE FINAL FLING
Hey all
Just wondering if anyone is going to the "Final Fling" gig in Glasgow on the last weekend of November. Some great Scottish bands are playing...Teenage Fanclub....The Pastels...The Vaselines...The View....Idlewild.
Was thinking of going on my own.
Any goers?

Sorry to those who thought I was condoning Ian's behaviour, I DONT, and made the comment to have a comic effect to empahise the guy's coolness. Hope I caused no offence to any reader that may have been victims/witnesses to domestic violence.
Peace,

He couldve murdered the woman and still would've looked cool as fuck. He's my idol though and I adore him, but I hope the rumours arent true and that it was just a domestic that someone thought it was their business.

Re: Record shops in London
I made a visit to London in June, and thought itd be wise to visit Berwick Street. Only managed to pop in to Sister Ray which is a good record shop...plenty of rarities both CD and vinyl, but didnt see much worth investing in that I couldnt get in (nearer to me) Manchester. There's supposed to be a ...

I would like to see some of the Oasis albums get a "re-mastering".I think that however great The Beatles are, it seems they have been turned into a massive money making band. I dont see much point in re-masters to be honest....its all part of the "what would it sound like if"...i...

As for saying 'fair play' regarding a man who runs onto the pitch... Maybe because he was a Man U fan you think it's OK - but it's not. A life ban and criminal re...

Re: Man U vs Man City
I have to disagree with the insinuations that the added minutes were put on in United's favour. The injury time was added for both Manchester United and Manchester City's gain, either side could have scored a fourth, the mere fact that City were happy to 'take the money and run' is their problem, Un...

I didnt mind Lou Reed's 1st LP, thought it was a great effort, some great tracks (Perfect Day, Take A Walk On The Wild Side). As for George Harrison's 1st LP, thought it was alright, but I couldnt be doing with all that indian music reference...I prefered Lennon's debut. classic.

Re: Oasis appreciation thread.
Massive Oasis fan here, I think their last album was amazing, not at the time but hearing it now it sounds one of the freshest sounding LP's theyve ever done. Think Andy Bell should stay clear of songwriting for the band, "The Nature Of Reality" is dire! I hope the band carry on without th...
