I was there too at the Festival Hall, Great gig, agree the new one and Wonder 2 were highlights, felt like they were trying to blow a hole through the roof.

Re: New mbv song at meltdown
i was really looking forward to hearing this after seeing them on Saturday but the sound quality is poor, shame because it sounded amazing when they played it, I can hear the Silver Machine element too and Colm's propulsive drumming and the relentless guitar riff gave it a bit of a 'Revolution' feel.

Re: Revolution or Heroin
I've read previously on a couple of occasions that its from The Mean Fiddler, Harlesden, Not sure of the year but I'd say 1987. I have two ULU bootlegs from 1988, November (I was there) and possibly May as mentioned earlier. The later has Sonic having a go back at a heckler which is not on Revolutio...

Sonic's Gear
I've just come across a short but cool interview with Sonic Boom on youtube. I really liked the solo stuff he did a couple of years ago - Hall of Mirrors, Walking & Falling, Spectrum /S3 covers using electronic equipment. I'm curious to know what instruments he was using at the time and this cli...

Re: Will there be a new Spectrum album ... ever?
I spoke to Sonic at the labour club in Northampton in 2006 where he was doing a spacelines dj set and he said that the new album would surface the following year.... I don't know if anyone else here remembers a section in the melody maker around the time that 'True love will find you in the end' was...

Re: New Slowdive Anthology
A mate of mine suggested I see them live, around when 5ep came out, I wasnt expecting much and they turned out to be bloody good! so much so that I brought Pygmalion and....I just didnt get it so I flogged it. I then got into post rock, especially Labradford whose music was similar to stuff on Pygma...

Re: Johann Johannsson / Max Richter fans?
Eluvium is great, Basically a solo artist called Matthew Cooper who does crossover classical music/piano/shoegaze guitar. can also recommend Library Tapes, again another solo artist/pianist whos music is kind of like providence by sonic youth if you get my drift. You'll find their stuff on youtube/m...

Re: Suicide: First vs Second album
The first is my favorourite, I quite like the second one even though its cleaner/sweeter, The live versions of Harlem I've heard are harder than the stuff on the first album.

Re: Godspeed You! Black Emperor shows!
I've never heard of Labradford. What would be a good album to start with of theirs? Also, I only ever had a burnt copy of Godspeed's Yanqui U.X.O on my old MP3 player which has now given up the ghost. Is this one of their best albums or is there a better on to go out and buy in preperation for thei...

Re: Godspeed You! Black Emperor shows!
It would be my ultimate heaven if Labradford got back together, especially if they performed tracks from A stable reference. I saw them live touring that lp and must rank among one of my all time favourite gigs. Anyone heard any of the music by Clint Mansell? (ex pop will eat itself) its all film sc...

I'm slightly more into the ambient end of krautrock, so I've gone for Cluster.
