Re: Unexpected music appearing on TV

Spectrum’s magnificent ‘How You Satisfy Me’ is used prominently in ‘Priscilla’- Sofia Coppola’s film about Priscilla Presley. It’s also in the trailer, I think. Not the first song you’d think of in an Elvis movie!

Re: Radio Spiritualized

At last night's gig in Birmingham I sat using the song identifier function on Deezer- that is, until my 4G ran out! I got the following: Sweet Inspiration- The Sweet Inspirations I've Forgotten More Than You'll Ever Know- Esther Phillips Rise And Fall Of Jimmy Stokes- Link Wray I'm the Loneliest Foo...

Re: Erik Morse's book on Spacemen 3

I've just posted about this separately, but this book is listed on various online retailers for between £600-£996! Do you think this is legit? Does it fetch those sorts of prices?

Erik Morse book

I've just seen a book I own- "Spacemen 3 & the Birth of Spiritualized" by Erik Morse- listed on Etsy, eBay and Amazon for a pretty alarming amount. It ranges from £600 to £996!

Is this accurate? Is it really that rare? Does it fetch those sorts of prices?

Re: new neil young album with crazy horse

Two things:
Firstly, hmv.com sold me the 2lp vinyl for £9 on Friday. On Sunday it was listed as £44. Really hoping they honour this.
Secondly, I've just heard the first track Oh Susannah on Spotify. It's good. Really good. Be excited.

Re: favorite record covers

Just started this blog (lots more on the way). Thought this thread was the right place to launch it!
The Nancy & Lee cover is sublime.

Just listening to the second disc. I have a belly full of wine so my judgement might be slightly askew, but my god , this is so good.

Re: Royal Albert Hall, October 11th, 2011.

Has anyone posted lyrics to the new songs? I was trying to figure out "Too Late" but my ears just don't do the trick these days. I have been listening to it and figured out most of it- but I can't figure out that recurring line "baby i'm ?" Just can't figure that out, maybe it i...

Re: UK Shows

I'll be heading to the Leamington Spa gig tomorrow night and was wondering- what sort of merchandise is up for grabs and what sort of prices am I looking at? I'd appreciate any info from the lucky souls at the Edinburgh gig tonight. Ta.

Check out A Hundred Years From Now- Essential Elvis 4. Get past the unpromising cover and you'll find some of the best, rawest, most surprising Elvis music you'll hear.

Re: My Bloody Valentine unreleased / rare lp

Not entirely sure of my dates here, but have you heard the cover of 'We have all the time in the world?' I think it was free on a cover mount CD with Vox magazine. It is a fantastic cover.

Silly me, just read the thread properly. It's already on there. The shame!

Re: The Spiritualized forum - 50 greatest albums of all time

In my opinion the biggest surprise so far is the large amount of votes for on the beach .. I thought it would just be me and maybe 1 or 2 more votes.. but now it has more votes than most spiritualized records? Whilst I voted for it, I thought 'Tonight's the Night' would be the album that appealed t...

Re: The future of music formats

The general availabilty of just about everything via the internet made me really miss the thrill of owning music. As a result I've reverted to collecting vinyl. Forgot how much I missed trawling through the racks of lps. It makes it feel special again, especially as record shops are few and far betw...

Re: The Spiritualized forum - 50 greatest albums of all time

Finally, after years of lurking, a thread has made me break my silence! I did this far too quickly and therefore fully expect to be kicking myself when I realise what I've missed out. Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited Cinerama Va Va Voom Curtis Mayfield There's No Place Like America Today Curtis Mayfie...
