Re: Neil Young & Bluenote Cafe : Performance Series Vol. 11

Wow - this is an incredible album. A few tracks are immediately up there in the pantheon of my all-time NY greats! Old Black is way heavy in the mix, with that awesome and dirty echoed tone. The combined forces of the Stray Gators and Crazy Horse and others, plus what sounds like the standard Stax ...

My paperback version arrived this week and I am so pleased I supported this, A real labour of love and looking forward to the tales.

Wonderfully put together and happy to help this idea see fruition.

Thanks for the tip on Pig's Disco. I've took a punt on the recommendation (this place rarely fails!)

Re: Rolling Stones - 'Exile on Main St.' vs. 'Sticky Fingers

It all sounds like it was done in one vast, sprawling session, like it all comes from a really heady, heavy, blinded out place. The gospel singers and the horns - just perfect. This sums it up beautiful, the record oozes the heat and sweat of those rooms, shutters drawn, bottles kicked as you move ...

Lovely, lovely gig last night, highlights of which were a 12-member Sunburned Hand of the Man playing loud as fuck, groove after screaming groove, and a somewhat impromptu Chasny/Corsano duo doing Six Organs material electrified madness and wonderful.
