Re: Julian Cope - The Jehovahcoat Demos
Me too! Thanks for the post. Just listening to the extra tracks from the extended Jehovahkill CD at the minute! I don't think he's ever bettered Peggy Suicide/Jehovahkill for sheer artistic freedom & incredible songs.

Shine a Light and Feel So Sad (ESPECIALLY the version on the Medication B-Side) are both incredible, but for me, it's Sway from LGM. That song puts prickles up my spine.

Re: WOW!
That is nuts. I've got one of the original 12x3, and I never considered selling it...but that is STUPID money! Does anyone know how many were produced (apologies if this was covered elsewhere)?

I think you really have to be of a certain age for Star Wars to have a profound effect on you. I saw the first one (or fourth one, I guess?) on my 8th birthday, and it just blew me away. My mum took my brother and I out of school to see Empire Strikes Back on opening day...one of the best days of my...

Re: It Might Get Loud
Just saw it the other night and enjoyed it immensely. Gave me a new found respect for Jimmy Page's riffs, though I've never been a HUGE Zeppelin fan (I think it has to do more with the histronic vocal style at times). My wife fell asleep towards the end, and said she dreamed of the 3 of them as an o...

Re: British Sea Power Live
Definitely one of my two top bands of the 00s. And what a spectacular show they put on. They sound a bit like what I already like, but they are definitely doing their own thing. Can't wait for the new record.

Dammit. Why can't we get something like this in Seattle? Looks like a great weekend.
Just checked out your myspace as well. Super sound!

Re: The Who
The first record I ever got was Substitute/Instant Party from my uncle. To me, the Who were the ULTIMATE band. More than the Beatles or the Stones. Songwriting could be debated, but as a BAND, no way. 4 huge entities that added to the whole. Incredible. I love the mid-early stuff, Sell Out and a Qui...

Re: Bunnymen
Definitely a top ten band for me. McCulloch's "best band in the world" schtick gets a bit tedious, but if Will Sergeant was in my band, I'd probably make the same claim. The self titled album seems to polarize a lot of people, but as it was the first one I heard it holds a special place in...

Tom Verlaine also appears as a guest star on Luna's album "Penthouse". Great guitar work on "23 Minutes In Brussels" and a superb 12 string solo on "Moon Palace". Instantly recognizable style, which to me marks a singular talent.

Inventobox: I guess he's just fed up with everyone cloning his stuff. Most of it IS simple circuitry and easy to cop, but, a bit like a pharmaceutical company, the $$$ you pay somewhat transmits to further innovation. (Or so they say). I just got a Wah Probe, and I have to say it's probably worth it...
