Re: RIP Neal Casal

Very sad news indeed. Such a wonderful musician. Love his solo work, especially Basement Dreams, his work with Ryan Adams and the Cardinals and Hazy Malaze: their first album is a lot of fun, upbeat groovy rock music, with more than a sniff of The Meters. He will be missed.

There is that vinyl edition of LAG that was sold together with some record cover display frame. That one’s supposed to have the elvis version of the title track. It's the albums up to and including Sparke in the Rain for me. I do like Once upon a time, because I played it to death when I was a kid (not to mention live in the city of light) But there is one particular thing I am curious about. I used have a Rock Palast broadcast of a pre-NGD gig that had an e...

I think I would find that setlist quite hard work. I can understand the whole album thing with orchestra, choir and all the bells and whistles, but with just a core band? Listening to this now. Sounds pretty good. Rocket is great indeed, as is the title track. Can’t help but wonder how much better sound quality wise ANH would have sounded if Jason had used a proper mixing engineer.
