Re: Pure Phase & LGM vinyl reissues

Well, I've seen some on Ebay, so they are in existance. It just takes amazon a little extra time to get them. I'm waiting too... eagerly!

Re: The Spiritualized Film Club

Has anyone here seen In Bruges? That's one of my recent favourites. I enjoyed District 9 as well. I can't remember any movies of note more recently though.

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

I just bought the newest "Band of Horses" LP. I only heard snippets from a couple songs online and was quite taken with the melodies. I'm going to sit down and give it a good listen tomorrow.

Re: ladies gents vinyl re ish

Hmm, I wonder if it's how this record was stored. Maybe the grooves were damaged or something... or maybe I was just imagining things... I'm going back to listen again.

UPDATE: Just listened to track one with headphones... it's pretty clear... My mind must have been playing games...

Re: Pure Phase & LGM vinyl reissues

When I say I didn't listen to it fully, I did listen to the whole thing, but I just didn't listen to it as many times. Yes, I'm looking forward to rediscovering these albums again. This vinyl revival is wonderful!

Re: Pure Phase & LGM vinyl reissues

Thanks Sim... I just hope they press them from an analogue source. We'll see how they sound. I want them anyway, but it'd be nice for them to have the proper pressing like A&E! Another good thing for me is that I bought the LGM CD release that had the songs on only 4 tracks and because of that, ...

Re: Recommendations

Make sure you check out Pure Phase and A&E. I'm not a huge fan of Amazing Grace. But I like the softer side of Spiritualized. I really loved (and fell in love with Spiritualized because of) Let It Come Down. I think a lot of people, possibly older fans and "purists", aren't as big on t...

Re: Other users' bands

I actually just released a CD (and it's available on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/artist/joel-van-vliet/id152383689). It's called "autumn, winter, spring, summer". Check out the tracks by "Green Dynamo" too, that's my rock n roll band. (thegreendynamo.com) My home domain is...

Re: 60's Baldwin Organ (tube insanity)

I bought a Hammond Chord organ, it's an S-1, and it's full of tubes too (doesn't look as nice as the Baldwin there). It isn't working well and even if it was, I don't think it's got much of a sound to shout about. So, I'm just going to harvest the vintage tubes to use in my tube microphone or anythi...

Re: 200 gram lps

I've been buying "audiophile" pressings of albums I love and they're great. I think the trick is, as has been mentioned, they need to be pressed from an analogue source, not a digital one. Sometimes I don't fully understand it when it's a Flaming Lips record and I'm sure they use piles of ...

Re: ladies gents vinyl re ish

I haven't been listening to vinyl for too long, maybe it's been a year since I've started buying up all the new vinyl I could get my hands on (of all the albums I already have on CD), but it sounds to me like this was a digital transfer. I was also disappointed with the LICD vinyl that I bought. I w...
