Re: Spiritualized® - Glasgow ABC, T O N I G H T ! ! !

Yep, the gig was awesome. I was doing pictures at it and the sheer volume was incredible. Hey Jane is a total stormer of a tune live - shame the video will never make it onto morning telly...

(I'll throw up a few snaps when I get a chance)

Re: Royal Albert Hall, October 11th, 2011.

Not had a good rake through the rest of the board yet so apologies if I'm repeating anything, but on the floor the sound was terrible. It picked up a few tracks in with a bit of knob twiddeling, but even then it wasn't anywhere near up to par for not only them, but for the venue. If the choir had mi...

Re: Carlos Tevez - opinions?

The Premier League is a great watch but its all too Americanized now (see that 'z' I through in there?...) Money and cameras have ruined a perfectly splendid way to spend a Saturday afternoon. As a Scottish footie fan, its painful to see our crowds and skill level are simply not up to anything down ...

Re: Royal Albert Hall, October 11th, 2011.

Just got the See Tickets confirmation email for the RAH show so thankfully I don't have to navigate their 'wonderful' FAQ section to find out exactly what I know about the company - pish. (although saying that, I don't physically have the tix yet so the dury is still out until then...)

Re: Upside Down - The Creation Records Story

Yep, the first two thirds is great (JAMC, Ride etc etc). The documentary should really be called 'My Name Is Alan McGee - I Like Drugs, But I Fecking Love Bobby G More'. Its a modern romance really, with a decent soundtrack until you hit the so-called 'Britpop'. (still very much worth a watch though)

Re: The Spiritualized Book Club

Got the first official Bowie one to do after Really? I thought he never wanted an official book written by someone else.. at least I think I read him saying that in an interview from the eighties. What´s it called and who is the author? Not got it handy just now, it might not be official then but ...

Re: The Spiritualized Book Club

My recent weapon of choice I started last night and honestly I was rolling about at his turn of phrase - Lemmy, White Line Fever . Within 30 odd pages I was gutted that I had to go to work... at This is a great book! One of the few rock bios that is not full of egotistical bullshit. Mr Kilminster i...

Re: The Spiritualized Book Club

I'm a fiend for music bios, and I've battered through quite a few recently. My recent weapon of choice I started last night and honestly I was rolling about at his turn of phrase - Lemmy, White Line Fever . Within 30 odd pages I was gutted that I had to go to work. Will report back with my findings ...

Re: Royal Albert Hall, October 11th, 2011.

Never been to the RAH before so this should be a fitting first gig for the venue. (I'm short, and standing - might take the yellow pages) Here's a pretty accurate photo of what the view is like (although I don't imagine that the people in the background seats will be standing up at Spz). The stage ...

Re: BRMC Glasgow 6/12

Bit late to post this now, but we made the gig and despite only filling maybe half the downstairs in the Academy, to their credit they still gave it a fair melt on stage. Seen them tons over the years, but this was definately not their worst show I've seen. (to be fair, I don't think they are capabl...
