Re: David Bowie/Jeff Beck 'Jean Genie'
Tony Visconti had this to say as to why it wasn't in the film. There's not much more to say, except that Jeff Beck was not satisfied with his guitar solo in the film, so we braved a snow storm in December to allow him to rerecord his solo -- only to find out later that it was really his bell-bottom...

Note the mp3 is truncated (or was - maybe they've fixed it). The wav is fine.BzaInSpace wrote:Howvever - for those with limited record funds, the good news is that Blur have made the tune available in exchange for an email address, either as an mp3 or wav.

I'm a (fairly) recent convert to Can so I went for them. I think Tago Mago has to be the most exciting and interesting record I've heard in a while. I do have places in my heart for Kraftwerk, Neu! and Harmonia too. I was discussing this poll with my Can-freak friend and he mentioned that he's been ...

I wasn't going to buy it - who needs a legacy edition puffed out with a load of old demos I thought. Then it turned up on Napster, I gave it a go and I loved it. So much care has obviously gone into it and it sounds marvellous. Bought the triple CD version now. That clipping of the last "love&q...

I liked it I'm afraid. I'm only a Weatherall follower in a very small way but I got that Sci-Fi Lo-Fi compilation he put together a couple of years back and that was a good pointer to the way he's gone with the new one.
Love the Fuck Buttons album.

I wasn't that upset by the quality either. But still, I've never bought the albums on CD before and I was hoping for a fairly definitive edition so I wouldn't have to do so again and the fact that the transfers are a bit crap is annoying. I sent an email to Rhino yesterday querying the recall and go...

I never download stuff ahead of release date, I find it gets too hard to keep up once you start doing that.
I shoud have two days of listening before Koko (if the release date doesn't slip) so that'll have to be enough. See you there Greeny.

I love that ebay listing. The blurb says it's coming out in a "DVD sized book", not "with a DVD", and he's not going to send it out until after the release date of May 26th. So £15.95 plus postage for something you're probably going to be able to get cheaper once it's released a...

I think saying the double neck guitar is a gimmick is a bit misleading. As will said, Jimmy used it on-stage in songs where he wanted to switch from a twelve string to a six string quicker than he could have done by changing guitars. To do this is a much more honest way of achieving a desired effect...
