It's a great, worthwhile book. The writing can be pretentious, especially with the frame/conceit of the "dreamweapon" for the narrative, but tons of information I'd never heard before. Maybe Robert Caro will take on the Spacemen when he's done with Lyndon Johnson.

Even his worst albums have had their gems, I think, so I anticipate at least a few good songs even if a consistent album seems forever out of reach. Black Submarine have promised a fil...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

Beady Eye - Wigwam Good psychedelic track. All things considered Beady Eye has been better than I expected. I've continued listening to a lot of the Beady Eye album. At the time I assumed it was Oasis album retreads by numbers, but it's clear that Liam & co. had something to prove. There are a ...

Re: Lil B - Open Thunder Eternal Slumber (SLOWDIVE SAMPLE)

Hip-hop and rap are a genre that I have a tough time with. Every now and again, an artist I like will have a guest rapper on a track and I can dig it (for example, Four Tet's "A Joy" or the Neon Neon tracks from Stainless Style with rappers on them), but whenever I hear stuff by the genre...
