pretty sure I saw a 5 star review somewhere too but maybe I am thinking of the Record Collector one.
I am sure this one benefits from being more of a cohesive album, whereas the last one had reworkings of some of their solo work

16 year old me would have found this a dream team up for sure. it's still quite good for Squire to have a singer that can actually sing; and Liam to have someone with guitar skills! but yeah, not finding it very good unfortunately. pretty generic and Squire is more in Seahorses mode than Stone Roses...

Yeah agree, i mean it's okay but nothing great. Some of the shimmery guitar is nice but it's true that it is a bit close to modern dreampop type stuff

nice spot! hard to say whether he means they might start to work on music next year, or it might be released next year. 2 quite different things with this band!

found the album pretty average myself. solid, dependable, covers the bases but pretty generic. still very respectable though considering where they are in their career

froggy, thats a good way to describe it. the singing style of "I am oh so weary and worn down" is probably part affectation and part limitations of his voice. bit like Dylans latter years, you adapt to how your voice is aging as best you can I think it works on Sitting on Fire, he's meant ...
