Undone

Hey everybody, Youtube this!
Free Strawberry Milkshake in White Lake by Undone, an Israeli band I've just come across by accident. It's got 35 views to date, and 15 of them are by me. Three minutes of absolute magic. Let me know what you think.

Re: Hackney Empire

I was at Hackney Empire last night with my son and he asked me what old stuff I'd really like them to play tonight. After a moment or two's thought, I said Lay Back In The Sun and Oh Baby. See, dreams do come true. Great gig, erasing the disappointment of the flat RAH gig in October. Cop Shoot Cop n...

John Martyn RIP

How sad to hear of the death of the wonderful, magnificent John Martyn yesterday. As a 15 year old in 1971, hearing Solid Air for the first time was one of the seminal music moments of my life. From the early slim, curly haired Bolanesque features to the latter day Burl Ives lookalike, he has produc...

Re: Manchester Academy

Last night at Manchester was one of the most memorable and fantastic Spiritualized gigs I've ever witnessed. Not since the Brixton gig a few years ago when they blew Primal Scream and Nick Cave into oblivion have I been so spellbound and uplifted by their performance. The audience reaction grew more...

Re: The Plug, Sheffield, 19th May

No moronic shouting out between songs, rarely a mobile phoned raised in anger to take blurry photos, coupled with warm and appreciative recognition and applause, what a thoroughly lovely audience at the Sheffield Plug last night. And what a fantastic musical feast. Some 17 years on from the release ...

And then there's the menacing and haunting music from John Carpenter's Assault on Precint 13.

It was me who started this age discussion some months ago. I was 35 when I first heard LGM in 1991. After the barren 80's I was desperate for some music with balls, guts, emotion and originality.
