Jason performs all the lead vocals on SOC but Pete takes over lead on his songs on PP. During the compilation process for HTB he told me that he started singing his songs because he didn't always like the way Jason sang them, it really was as simple as that.

It's quite well known that there are a few collections of Spacemen 3 photos that haven't been generally released so hardly anyone has actually seen them. Popped over to Manchester to see Connecticut noodly jam exponents Goose at Academy 2. It was amazing to see a large room of around 1000 people all dancing throughout. 2 sets, 75 minutes each, but only 12 songs played. Everything built into monumental epic jams, usually with considerable intensity. T...

Another Rose City Band experience at the Brudenell. We were treated to Bobby Lee's excellent trio as support, and they were quite excellent. Steady, basic rhythms with a lot of gentle wobbly guitar and reverb over it. Proper cosmic country. I saw him in Pontefract earlier this year and I really enjo...

That Holmfirth gig was indeed an astonishing night. Great venue but the performance was off the scale. I remember the place trembling as the noise took over, and then I realised all the doors were open as it was a hot night. So most of Holmfirth could hear it too.

Catching up here... I saw Steve Mason a few weeks ago at the Brudenell. Totally different set up with none of the previous touring band at this show. I love it too. It's simply part 4 of Ripley's obsession with that style of music. I agree with Sunray as I think it's a slight step up from Earth Trip.
