My orange vinyl from Fat Possum sounds way better than the silver vinyl version I got from Bella Union. I definitely haven't had the distortion problems with the orange vinyl that others have had.

I'm excited for both of them- I think both could benefit from a more analog-faithful approach. I'm expecting it to be pretty minor given the amount of time that's been dedicated to this endeavor, but I'm optimistic. I've noticed a pretty big difference between listening to 'Isn't Anything' on vinyl ...

I did a bundle too- both albums and a t-shirt. It made the obscene overseas shipping cost a little more worthwhile. I always liked Stereolab in a fairly casual way until I saw them live- they blew the roof off of the place in a way that took me by surprise given the light French pop perception of them that I'd always had. Re: Flying Saucer Attack

i was going to post about the new album- the new track is really great.

i'd really love it if dave did another collaboration with jessica bailiff- that clear horizon record is staggeringly good.

i tried to rip the video while it was broadcast, but it was kind of a disaster. the audio was fine, though- i'll do an audio rip tomorrow after i get home. the mix was pretty nice, i must say.

Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?

coachwhips- 'bangers vs. fuckers' thee oh sees- 'mutilator defeated at last' sharon van etten- 'i don't want to let you down' portishead- 'third'- never bought this on vinyl when it came out for some weird reason- kind of better in a way since that was a single lp and the new version is a double 45r...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

the new oh sees is up on soundcloud- it can be downloaded for free for today only. my initial impressions are that it follows on nicely from 'drop' with the return of brigid as a huge bonus.

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

Just got back from the JAMC 'Psychocandy' show- I was not prepared for how all-around fantastic it was! I don't feel so gutted that I can't make it to the Austin psych fest now. They picked the Black Ryder to open which couldn't have been more perfect (I've been wanting to see them since 2009 and th...

Re: Tame Impala - New Track - Let It Happen (2015)

wasn't into 'cause i'm a man.' my wife kept begging me to turn it off. 'let it happen' was a little better, but i'm not into the smoother production at all- one of the things i liked about the production on 'lonerism' and 'innerspeaker' was the grittiness and immediacy of it.

Re: RSD 2015

I saw nothing on the list I would wake up early for. Which I am totally fine with. I spent enough last time. completely agree with this. i was relieved when the final list was released. it shouldn't be a problem to get what i'm after later on- there are only a few releases i want at all on the list...
