ooooh FLAC would be awesome! :) I'm happy to report that I was finally able to find the backup drive that the flacs for this show were on. I've uploaded them to my dropbox, where I plan to host them permanently as I get asked for them from time-to-time. It's a single zip file, kinda big (around 750...

Not really- I think they were just smart enough to not mess it up. It seems like it's just like having a new copy of the original p...

I'm excited for both of them- I think both could benefit from a more analog-faithful approach. Re: lost bootleg

was there ever a bridge song live version? i think i read they did it on the us leg of the tour? wasn't there a review of the Toronto show at Massey Hall saying they did 'the bridge song'? It's always annoyed me that a recording of that one hasn't materialized. There's also the RSD rough trade east...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

Mazzy Star's last record- Seasons Of Your Day is my favorite by them. That is saying a lot. It seems it never really got its fair share of praise. Perhaps I am wrong. Prior to Seasons... Among My Swan was my favorite. I put 'Seasons of your Day' on last night on my way home from work and I agree wi...

Re: Tame Impala - New Track - Let It Happen (2015)

yeah the new stuff is garbage to my ears. I'm all for supporting a band changing direction, but it's doing nothing for me at all. I think he knows it's kind of an obvious move towards the mainstream with this one. it just sounds so light .. where's the thick, weighty sound of the first two? lets no...

Re: lost bootleg

Wow. Thanks Dave - that sounds, well, amazing! I can't locate the Glasgow 2008 show at all, so I'm assuming it was never replaced after my old external HD died. Sounds better than I remember, but that could well be the audio from Tufty's bootleg. Tufty, if you're out there, any chance of a re-up fo...

Re: Spiritualized Glastonbury Live 27th BBC Radio 6 + Video

finally got around to watching this and i was much more impressed with this than the primavera set (which i thought sounded really uninspired and limp). i agree it starts out a bit average with a done-on-autopilot feel, but it has a nice build-up to the end, which i think is really solid and satisfy...

Re: Flying Saucer Attack

i was going to post about the new album- the new track is really great.

i'd really love it if dave did another collaboration with jessica bailiff- that clear horizon record is staggeringly good.

i tried to rip the video while it was broadcast, but it was kind of a disaster. the audio was fine, though- i'll do an audio rip tomorrow after i get home. the mix was pretty nice, i must say.

Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?

coachwhips- 'bangers vs. fuckers' thee oh sees- 'mutilator defeated at last' sharon van etten- 'i don't want to let you down' portishead- 'third'- never bought this on vinyl when it came out for some weird reason- kind of better in a way since that was a single lp and the new version is a double 45r...

the new oh sees is up on soundcloud- it can be downloaded for free for today only. my initial impressions are that it follows on nicely from 'drop' with the return of brigid as a huge bonus.

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

Just got back from the JAMC 'Psychocandy' show- I was not prepared for how all-around fantastic it was! I don't feel so gutted that I can't make it to the Austin psych fest now. They picked the Black Ryder to open which couldn't have been more perfect (I've been wanting to see them since 2009 and th...
