Haven't been here a while and I had to come here and lightly brag. I got married in November and Dean and Britta played my wedding. I chose the setlist and am still over the fucking moon. The wedding was at Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace, where Spiritualized have played. So dream w...
What's interesting is that Ladies and Gents was release 25 years after to the date of Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust. Yesterday was 25 years of LAG and 50 of Ziggy!
J
Doggen
Stell
Kev
Keyboard player that I believe was on the last tour
Third guitarist - not Doggen's son. Not sure what his name is, or which bands he was in before
The clarinet or saxophone opener on a few songs
Gospel singers (three at all of them, except London where there 5 or 6)
My fiance and I were there and really enjoyed it! Beautiful theater and the sound was great. The least amount of people out of the 4 shows we went to though. They passed out kind of standard 11"x17" posters for the show afterwards.
I’ll be at the show. Shazammed a few of the songs at the Manchester show last night. Nottingham tonight too. Anyone want to meet up for drinks before/after? The last time they played the roundhouse (2014?) there was a really fun night afterwards.
Finally had the chance to do several proper listen through a on my so far fiasco of a UK trip and I must say it’s a great album. J is really leaning into the Neu sound on it. I wasn’t crazy about “Crazy”, but think it works in the context of the album. Hearing A and D songs again takes me back to al...
My fiance went to the San Diego show and said it was really bad. Anton seemed to be on drugs again and said some pretty inappropriate things. Then he apparently was telling people to cancel him. I feel like every time they tour their gear gets stolen at some point. That happened the day before I saw...
If anyone wants to meet up for drinks before the Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, or London shows send me a DM! I'll have JamesT in tow for a couple of them.
Got my deluxe version in the mail today. On first listen, the first side sounds really bad. Lots of noise and almost like my speakers were blown out. Second side sounds better. Love the album though! I'm definitely a fan of this one.
I put it on a different thread, but I always post lots of videos from shows I go to on Instagram. I have a bunch from the Solana Beach show: umatheremin_
Incredible. I've never seen these posted before, but I was at each one of these shows! That Austin Psych Fest ("Levitation") gig was the absolute worst Spiritualized show I've ever seen. I think purespace was there as well and agrees... Curious as to why the Austin gig was bad..? Just a r...

New Interview [Edit: Just realized it's the same one posted above]: https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/4869861/spiritualized-jason-pierce-ninth-album-liberating/ About "Everything Was Beautiful" + "And Nothing Hurt": Pierce says his original idea was a “grand gesture” containi...
...yes, that's correct. https://pitchfork.com/news/mc5-announce-first-new-album-in-51-years-and-us-tour/ The teaser for the first single is really bad. Sounds like it would be the backing song for a monster truck rally - "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!" (I think only Americans would get this refere...
The poster is okay. Much better than this one: https://www.behance.net/gallery/58103815/Poster-Spiritualized-at-the-Fillmore-SF Hahaha, that SF one is HORRIBLE. I remember being at that show and they handed it to me and I thought, "What is this shit?!" I have most of my Spiritualized post...
Solana Beach is 20 minutes north of San Diego. It's considered a San Diego show for all of us living in the region! Spiritualized has played the Belly Up several times. How's the sound there? I got loft seats and have never been. It's ok. Usually pretty quiet. I got loft seats as well! I've never s...
They announced Coachella, which is why there probably no LA shows this time around (or they won't be announced until well after Coachella is on sale). Back when I used to book shows Coachella had terrible exclusivity clauses that would pretty much bar bands from playing anywhere else in southern Cal...

I watched this last week. It's really cool to see and hear the Velvet Underground, but I have to admit I thought it was a bit dull. I love the John Cale experimental music explanations, but once the documentary went past him leaving, it dropped off fast.
I've ordered pretty much everything, but I'm not a fan of the artwork. I was going to just assume they were going to be the black artwork from the previous reissue.
Another great reissue! I haven't opened the glow in the dark vinyl yet, so can't confirm the distortion on the last few tracks, but the black vinyl sounds flawless. My only concern is that the quality of the printing on the tshirts is pretty poor. I got the tracklist one and the baseball tee. Both a...
If anyone has heard the new Lorde single "Solar Power", you may have noticed the end of the song is SHOCKINGLY similar to Primal Scream's "Loaded". Lorde: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvsP_lzh2-8 Primal Scream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf73xqZvk6k At first I was shocked...
Has anyone else come across these beautiful Slovakian flutes? I saw a video this morning of someone playing one and was completely floored. It makes a very unique sound of overblown overtones and a great combination of a wood sound combined with almost metallic resonation - a lot of us here would pr...
I feel like Frasier is shunned for being too basic and too white in the States (or at least in my friend group). Niles is my favorite TV character out of everything I've watched.
Finally put on LGM over the weekend and it sounds incredible. No skipping or pressing issues as someone on YouTube reported. Sounds better than the original pressing I have.
Really don't like the new packaging of it though. We'll see what they do for the others!
It's amazing that they are still surviving the pandemic and still going strong. Just watching that documentary brought back a rush of smells and textures of going into those stores as a child!
Always really hard. At least you got to see him live his final moments. I had the same thing happen a few years ago and although it was so incredibly hard to watch, I'm glad I got the time together before he went. I'm a cat lover through and through and I know lots of other folks here are the same w...
I would definitely say his first album (self-titled) is a must. It's got "Sam Stone" on it (which "Cop Shoot Cop" pulls lyrics from). It kind of encompasses all of his music's qualities (humor/sadness/upbeat/slow/country/rock) and ages pretty well. And this was before cancer chan...
