Re: What gigs have you just been to?
I saw the first of the BJM Brighton gigs, having won tickets from Anton for an Oxfam donation (whatever else people make of his current antics, this is such a brilliant thing for him to do). I do have a knack of ignoring bands I'm sure to like for far too long, so although I knew I'd be interested, ...

I bought Young Team when it came out, but it didn't really click with me so I left it there. My wife Mary bought their most recent album when it came out, and I thought it sounded pretty good, but again I didn't investigate any further. 17 Dec - might be going to see Quatermass III (current band of Gordon King from World Of Twist/Earl Brutus) at the Hope and Ruin in Brighton, although it's only a few months since we last saw them so it's a bit up in the air, especially considering that the next night... 18 Dec - The Bootleg Beatles...

Imagine what it's like being a middle-aged Teenage Fanclub enthusiast. Those aren't T-shirts I feel happy wearing outside of gig environments any more. I'd assume it's just a repress of the current Fire version, which has been 180 g for ages. Sound quality much the same as the Fire version has been since 89 (i.e. not great compared to the original).
Fire aren't universally popular among former Spacemen, but it's not on Space Age.

I don't think the Shindig interview uses old quotes. One thing that has come out of this is that the accepted wisdom of the timing of the changeover from Natty to Rosco is wrong. I think the chances of this are extremely thin for the time being. A shame, a deluxe Soul Kiss would be very welcome, there's enough material from singles etc. for a second disc, even before the possibility of real rarities like the original demos, should Pete still have them.
