The Michigan show at Pine Knob last night was unbelievably incredible. Last time I saw them was at the same venue in the summer of 1986. The rain turning into mist when they hit the stage set it up for an absolutely soaring performance.

Now that's what I am talking about. A full on garage rock noise fest! It took half of Hey Jane for the sound guy to get it right and from then on it was blast off. Highlights: Let It Bleed, The "A" Song and So Long You Pretty Thing. It certainly made up for the 2019 Royal Oak Theater show...

Great review! You nailed my biggest hesitancy for this tour which is the momentum killing set list. Man I hope J gets wind of this and changes things up when they come back to the states in September. Just got an email from the Vancouver promoter that "due to unforeseen circumstances" Mercury Rev are no longer playing the Vancouver show. Lame. Main reason I was going. Same for us, pretty gutted when we realized there was no Mercury Rev. Neither the venue nor BJM acknowledged it either....

Mercury Rev was a no show in Detroit last night. I understand they had some "non-COVID" related issues last week trying to get into Canada. They were to rejoin the tour in Detroit but no dice. Pretty disappointed but do hope it's nothing serious.

This will be the first year in three that we're going back to gigs. So far, we've booked Orville Peck in April, Brian Jonestown Massacre w/Mercury Rev in May, and Sharon Van Etten in August. It feels really good having live music to look forward to again :D
