Cheapster Live Versions

I've been relying on a live version from the Canada 2003 bootleg that's floated around for some time, and I like it a little better than the studio recording, I think.

Anyone have a preference as to other live versions of the song?

Reed, Cale, Nico - Bataclan Bootleg

Does anyone have a copy of this bootleg?
Is it readily available?
Is it worth tracking down? I've read some good things about it, but any info would be appreciated.

Re: Songs In A&E

I think we've pretty much confirmed the A&E hospital theme here, but I just wanted to bring up the website post from back in '05: 21.07.05 ...A truly massive "Thank You" to all the Medical Staff and Nurses at The Royal London Hospital A&E...whom all worked so amazingly hard on his ...

Re: Erik Morse's book on Spacemen 3

I think this might help you out: http://books.google.com/books?id=xlEX6Ig4hgQC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_summary_r It's a pretty extensive preview of the book at Google Books. Maybe read a chapter and decide whether you're into it. If you are also into my opinion, it's a very well-writt...

Real Complete Works (Again, I Know)

I've been around here long enough to know that the Real Complete Works set comes up pretty frequently, so I apologize for bringing it up here, but I have a few questions. 1. One of my favorite Spiritualized tracks has always been Let It Flow. Live, studio, whatever, I'm into it. I was wondering why ...

lovefingers

I'm guessing a bunch of you have browsed http://www.lovefingers.org before, but if you haven't it's worth checking out. They put up some great spacey mixes, and while it's sometimes hard to find tracklistings, there are some amazing songs that float through the site and some good djs who post there....

Re: Album release mid-May

Spiritualized is slated to play Coachella in April, so I suppose a little US tour might be built around that. I'm excited.

Dr. John Recommendation Request

So I'm considering getting into Dr. John's back catalog, and I am particularly interested in what I've read of his early work, which has been characterized as "swampy" R&B with mostly unintelligible vocals. Anyway, Cop Shoot Cop is probably my 3rd or 4th favorite track Jason has ever p...

Boston MFA Recording

I'm guessing someone posted this already, but last week a Boston blog posted a really nice quality recording of the Boston MFA Acoustic Mainlines gig. http://www.bradleysalmanac.com/2007/11/mp3s-spiritualized-live-in-boston.htm Probably the best recording of "Sitting on Fire" I've heard ye...

Glasgow 07

I'm going to be in London for a week or so this summer, and it looks like I could make it up to Glasgow to see an acoustic mainlines set. Anyone know anything about the festival and/or the park/venue. I'm not terribly impressed by the rest of the line-up (although I'd love to make it out on Saturday...

Listen, Midlake was fantastic live--a lot heavier and a much tougher sound. They played all of Van Occupanter except "You Never Arrived", they played "Baloon Maker" and "Some of Them Were Superstitious" from the earlier album, and there was one new song too. If you like...

Yeah, I love them right now--I bought their recent album the same day I bought the Brightblack Morning Light album, and they're probably 2 of my favorite releases of 2006. I'm going to see Midlake tomorrow night at new venue in Washington DC. I'll let you know how it goes; from what I've read, their...

Junior Kimbrough Track

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have the Junior Kimbrough tribute album? How is Jason's version of "Sad Days Lonely Nights"?

Thanks very much! You're right Laz69, the track is pretty hot.

Does anyone other than A.B.Noise have the Troggs version?

I mean, I looked it up and the earliest recording seems to be the Troggs in 1966. Evie Sands recorded it in 1969. Chip Taylor didn't record it until the 90's. I'm not saying that I definitely know what the original was, but wouldn't this information tend to imply that the Troggs' version was the fir...

Any Way that You Want Me

Hey. Would anyone be willing to make the Troggs' version of "Any Way that You Want Me" available. For some reason I've been preoccupied with the song for the last week and a half, and I'd really love to get my hands on the original.

Thanks
