I'm all for bricks and mortar record shops over Amacuntz and the like but not if the shop is being run by a bandit. The local record shop plays many roles, but cheating the customer shouldn't be one of them.

The last one was a bit limp. Good to have it back anyway as it was a good way to catch up with everyone. Care in the...

Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?

I bought that Cope CD. It is the first CD I've bought in ages. I can't remember the last time I bought an overtly 'psyche' LP. Here is the recent list Melt Yourself Down: Melt Yourself Down Melt Yourself Down: Last Evenings on Earth Melt Yourself Down: Live At The New Empowering Church Comet Is Comi...

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

Massive Attack, 3 Arena, Dublin Similar experience to spzretent's above. Just back from this gig and i'm so pissed off I can't even be arsed to review the show itself. A gig populated by self-absorbed wankers who believed their conversation is more important than what's on stage or other people's e...

Perhaps you are not anti Yank Olan
I'm pretty much anti-everyone at the moment. We try to avoid discrimination though. Everyone and everything can do one atm.

I guess you could call that equal opportunities grumpiness? 😊
You're on the list too Jon.

Re: What gigs have you just been to?

Went to see The Delines last night at the Unitarian Church in Liverpool. Utterly phenomenal gig. I can understand why Willy Vlautin rates Amy Boone's voice so highly. They even used the pipe organ in the church for the live debut of 'I'm just a ghost' as part of their encore. Very highly recommended...

Re: White Manna

Perhaps i got out of bed with wrong foot, but why do you need Carlton Melton if you have Acid Mothers Temple? The first time I saw Carlton Melton was in a small venue called Mello Mello in Liverpool (it is no longer a music venue) backing Acid Mothers Temple. I cannot see much comparison between th...

Re: What gigs have you got coming up?

A Certain Ratio are playing a tiny venue pretty much down the road from me.. but tickets are just a hair under £30! :/ very surprised by this as the venue usually houses bands costing a fraction of that! Yep, their other recent shows have been very pricey too. I've not seen them for years too. Must...
