As an aside I'd say that the later leg of the A&E tour was the band on real top form. I saw two early shows on the tour which were just *okay*.. The later one at Leamington Assembly was superb. Re: Spacemen 3 t-shirts,

It is cool to see The Guardian including Spacemen 3 relatively prominently, alongside names like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin! It's nice they chose the interesting t-shirt angle, over more obvious subjects like hipster-driven hyper inflation in the vintage vinyl market. Sadly the decreasing sustaina...

Re: Spacemen 3 t-shirts,

Not Spacemen 3, but reading this resurrected thread reminded me I saw Randall Nieman recently reposting a PK Facebook post (I somehow managed to miss the original, despite both the friends thing + following "Spectrum") advertising 2 new Spectrum t-shirts. They were both nice, plus slightly different...

Re: "And Nothing Hurt" - new Spiritualized® album 2018

Has anyone else noticed the websites linking to a download of this album title, but with a totally different tracklist of supposedly instrumental tracks, with titles I've never heard? All the sites linked to the same download site, which requires free registration. I couldn't be bothered to even use...

Re: New Spiritualized Album - 2018

Agreed! Just offering the streaming right now would sustain the momentum, driving more folks to pre-order the physical product.

Re: New Spiritualized Album - 2018

Not sure what to make of all this. The production on these 2 tracks is very nice. It certainly introduces dynamic elements that were not present in any of the live versions we heard. On the other hand, it all sounds a bit "safe". Perfect Miracle has lost the dramatic 7th on the 4th beat of the desce...

Re: New Spiritualized Album - 2018

I listed to SHSL a few times recently and "So Long You Pretty Thing" is incredible. I found myself getting a bit emotional over it. Powerful track. I've always found that epic track similarly affecting! It really took my breath away, when it closed the unveiling of the last album at the RAH. I was ...

Re: New Spiritualized Album - 2018

On the last album there were some lovely mellow compositions. Unfortunately there also was that real clanger Won't Get To Heaven, with such dreary, trite and unimaginative lyrics bolted on to an offensively generic tune! Are you thinking of "So Long You Pretty Thing"? Certainly not, that's a stone ...

Re: New Spiritualized Album - 2018

I have a feeling the mellow tracks will be divisive again. I really like "A Perfect MIracle" and "Let's Dance," based on the live versions. I think it depends on the production, plus how much variation is on the album. Whilst rough and ready, I thought Perfect Miracle, Here Comes The Road and Let's...

Whatever it is, I doubt it will be 17 years old...

(Ironically that sounds as good, if not quite a bit better than PSB in their heyday!)

Re: New Spiritualized Album - 2015?

Thanks for the interesting link. I didn't realise the Pet Shop Boys were still going! I'll always remember the musical Pet Shop Boy getting quoted in NME in the late '80s. He said he didn't trust MIDI and didn't think it accurately sync'd precisely with his perfect timing requirements. I'd be fascin...
