old s3 interview

i picked up this magazine from a record shop in coventry back in the day. it came with two flexi discs, two tracks off recurring, so nothing new there. i just scanned it in today, pdf + flexi scans here:

Re: live bootlegs

moderators: what's the state of play regarding recordings from this tour?

ordinarily i'd have no hesitation posting, but considering they played pretty much the whole new album, which won't be released for months, i'm pretty torn.

some guidance, please...

Re: Dio C'e ???

i too was wondering that. intriguingly that photo lists 'so long' after poppy. listening to the recording the last track is a short piano piece which segues into a longer piece with two movements, the first half of which repeats "help me lord help me jesus / cause i'm lonely and tired" and...

Re: Royal Albert Hall, October 11th, 2011.

that is a lovely photo! generally enjoyed the new material. i was mesmerised at one point early on (get what you deserve?). the lighting show was largely boring - almost entirely monochromatic. from where i was sitting the sound was fairly decent although i thought the orchestra were lost in the (au...

Re: RAH LAG Reviews

you're right, it's not just londoners, although in my experience there is a higher than average number of people-who-talk-through-gigs there. I just don't get it. if I'm shelling out £30 and travelling several hours to see a gig, believe me when I say I'm going there to see the band. I guess if £3...

Re: RAH LAG Reviews

in my experience, doctors _really_ don't like pregnancies overrunning by more than a week. if your missus is late I can pretty much guarantee she'll be induced well within 2 weeks of due date. all of which means, firstborn will have arrived... quite possibly you'll still be off on paternity leave......

You know what's really trippy? I was listening to the recording today, for the first time in months, and on a whim decided to check back on these forums, again for the first time in ages. Amazing coincidence that this thread seems to have woken up at the same time! It's a funny old world :)

Re: J Spaceman Lowry, Salford 24-11-06

In terms of recording Spiritualized shows. How the heck do you make a professional recording of a Spiritualized show without attaching two mics, one to each wall, and than running these into a DAT recorder? Depends whether you're able to make the recording openly or "stealth". Lots of opt...

FLAC is the true way! Okay, thi s is my final post on the subject. More of an FYI really... but there was recently (3 or 4 weeks ago) a new release of the FLAC tools, with bunch of new features (see flac.sourceforge.net for gory details if you care). The last update was something like 2 years ago, ...

so what's this about a colchester recording :?: Oh there was a separate thread on the gigs forum where dselevan was iso colchester disc 2. I recorded that, and it is circulating, albeit fairly low-key. Was just wondering aloud whether that was my recording or an alternate source. But at this point ...

I converter to 320kb/s mp3s and titled the tracks. I don't think I'm losing any quality, do you really? And what did that guy mean about, "personal use?" I think anything else would be illegal. I'm seeding the FLAC files so people can decide for themselves, but I like listening to mp3s an...
