Re: Bob Log III

Bob Log III is insane, but in a good way! It's definetely always a fun time, I think it's been about 5 years since he's been here last. I usually have trouble listening to the records for anything but a few songs in, but live, it's the whole one man band, seeing it before your eyes thing....he reall...

Re: Bradford Cox / LA / Lay Back in the Sun

Bradford and Deerhunter are certainly very good....but, IMHO, "genius" is a tag that i'd reserve for proof of a few albums down the road to see what they're capable of.

Re: Loop reissued!

What I meant was that I don’t really think people’s opinions of Spacemen 3 and Loop were changed all that much by petty squabbling in the music papers (and lets face it, it was hardly Blur v Oasis) and probably didn’t really care about Pete Kember and Josh bitching about each other in the pre...

Re: pedals

Someone mentioned the EHX Stereo Pulsar. The micro one? That's the one that I have and it has so many tweakable trem parameters that it makes it one of the most valuable trem pedals out there. My problem with most trems (even tube trems in amps) is that they're either too slow at the fastest speed o...

Re: pedals

Some Behringer stuff I think is probably more maligned than it should be, but I always get the impression that those cheap plastic boxes are gonna cave in during a show or something, in essence, you're probably paying less because of the cheap housings. Paying more usually means that you get somethi...

Re: Minimalism, Type Records, etc.

I haven't heard the Helios or Goldmund stuff, but I agree with what you're saying in theory. I think that there's some artists that keep it all separate because it becomes too varied or too in between genres. Justin Broadrick did that alot, he was making music that didn't fit into the Godflesh stand...
