@eelnekwah and @johnnyboy, there is only one way to get rid of static in my experience and that is to clean the offending LP with a proper wet cleaner/dryer and then re-sleeve the record in a new ant-static inner sleeve. Just back from The Cure. Very weird gig with a total lack of atmosphere in the venue. The crowd was asleep for much of the set. The show was truncated set due to illness and technical issues. Decent night out for the price I paid but they are typically much better than this.

Hi Paul! Why pay for 5.1 capabilities in the amp if you don't use surround sound? I would concentrate on getting the best 2-channel amp or receiver my money could buy if I were you. Just finished listening to the new LP from The Warlocks, Tales from the Prolapse (or something similar). It is really, really poor. Some of the vocals and lyrics are laughably bad in places... :cry:
