Re: Audio advice please!
Thankfully cd's have become slightly more green as the years have gone on. Getting rid of the huge plastic security cases that once housed them and the jewel cases moving to card has been a good move. But, I think the cd is mainly on its way out because young kids today buy songs and when they do i...

Bruce Springsteen - Walk Like A Man (Live in Mountainview, California 1988)
Great performance of one of my favorite songs from Tunnel of Love, my favorite Springsteen record. A lot of the stuff from the record didn't get played too much live and this is definitely a semi-forgotten gem.

What about 'The Last Waltz'? I know there are some fans of The Band in here so it seems that album should be listed. The Last Waltz is a real mixed bag. One of my favorite P. Kember songs, brilliantly realized in a number of different mixes and then given a sequel, itself with several mixes, for Recurring. I have 42 of them, though to be fair I've listened to about 35 of those. Strange thing to advertise in one's social media. All in all I think this was a better list in terms of what's been fashionable in various indie-rock circles over the last ten years than most equivalent attempts I've seen.

While I admit, unlike most in this forum I do tend to play more far out 60's stuff in my house than contemporary psych. I've always respected rather than loved MBV because I didn't think there was enough pop. I agree that the LGM studio version is the definitive take on the song. Re: New material from Neil Halstead
I wasn't gonna bother downloading (my 160g ipod is nearly full!) but the mention of a new version of Alison persuaded me. It's great! Slowdive/Mojave3, unlike some of their contemporaries, had really sturdy songs under the noise, and this confirms that. I may just have to generously tip Mr. Halstead...

London in October
I'll be in London next month, around October 20 or so, on my very first trip to the UK. I've got an event for work and am staying a few extra days. I'd be up for a meet up, if anyone in the area would be interested. Not that there's any shortage of things for the tourist to see!

Re: So what will be the third single? (if there is one)

Re: new dylan album 11th sept!
I'm gonna go ahead and say - SPOILER ALERT!!! that I think that album is getting a little too much critical kudos. There are some really memorable fantastic tracks, but also a fair bit of latter-day Dylan by numbers. Some of it could have used a bit of editing and the album sags a bit towards the en...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?
I always thought that there's more of that gig than what was on the video, they should release that officially. I'd like to get my hands on a recording of the gig that particular recording is from. It's like detroit 1997 or something, isn't it? I think so, but as far as I know a boot of that gig is...
